I had a problem similar to that with another car. It turned out to be the ground wire. Check your ground or replace it. A good way to identify this because I've seen this problem on multiple cars is if you turn the key the interior lights will all turn on just fine on the dash but when you turn the key nothing happens. If that is the case then your problem is a bad ground. Hope this helps. Good Luck

I have a buick 2011 and I'm having problems with my battery,i put in some acid, but the proson at the auto zone also was saying that it can be the altinater?

Yes, that's true. Some testing with a voltmeter would help determine if you have a problem with either the battery or the alternator. Does your battery (or alternator) light come on with the engine running? That would indicate a "charging" problem, and it could be a faulty battery or alternator. If the lights don't come on with engine running, but the battery is still weak, it could be a bad battery. If your battery is over 3 or 4 years old, very possible you need a new battery.
It sounds like your battery is not getting fully charged-if it is old, try a new battery. If you are not sure, have your alternator tested.

My expedition keeps dying on me the battery dies once i get it started though it works fine its when i leave it parked over night there is a new alternator on it cause the old one went out and the battery...

I'd run it by Autozone if this was the batter that was in it when the alatnator went out it may have cause the batter to get a bad cell, they will check it for free, Most batters have a 3 to 5 yr. warrenty. DONT tell thim your alatnitor went out if the battery showes bad this will void the warrenty just simpley say my batter has a bad cell....of corse the place you bought the batter will test it as well befor they give you or pro-rate your old battery good luck

Think that the regulator in the alternator is causing the engine to die. Not getting enough power but when tested alternator and started including battery are charging just fine.

engine barely turns over, wont start, battery dead but only 1 year old, suspect generator but dont know for sure, need quick way to test.

1998 Dodge 1500 with 4.7L engine starts fine but won't idle. Yesterday it ran fine.

This symptom is classic for a dead/dying battery. Have the battery load tested. If it shows the least bit flakey, replace it.

If it is more than 5 years old I would replace it as a preventative measure.

I believe you will find the battery is your problem.

3.if the cars battery is brand new and car acts like it wants to start real bad but wont...

Dead battery replace, died again 3 days later

12 volt is actually a misnomer of sorts... it's actually closer to 13.8 volts i believe. if the voltage regulator is not working right you could very well be frying the battery. replacing it is the cost of the alternator + labour (unless you do it yourself).
