Question about 2002 Chevrolet Camaro
There is a resistor in your key that is part of the security system. If it went bad, your car won't start and the security light will be on. Try your spare key. If this works then the problem was your key. If this does not work then the problem is with the reader in your ignition switch on the column. This is best left to a dealer and it won't be cheap! They will tear into the steering column and replace the reader and ignition switch. There are some electrical work arounds out there on the net, but I don't recommend it unless you are pretty confident in your electrical skills.
