Hi, sounds like valve stem seals are worn allowing oil to seap into combustion chamber, especially when parked up for long periods ie overnight, this is not drastic, more embarassing eh ?
Its quite a job and not cheap to do, if your not filling the street with smoke then dont worry too much. But it will very slowly get worse. All the best,Phil

Went to start my 1999 windstar for no reason it started making a knocking noies after it quit knocking it started smoking ran fine when I parked it what might of happened

You have described symtoms usually associated with two different engine problems. The knocking is generally a sign of a lower engine (Con rod or main) bearing failure. The smoking is generally a sign of oil in the upper cylindr/combustion chamber. This can be traced to rings and or valve problems in most cases. Unless of course a valve or valve spring has failed which may cause physical damage to the upper end. Any further attempt to start or run the engine at this point without a proper diagnosis could caus efurther damage. Did the eng stop running after the smoke was seen?

W reg diesel ford focus estate not starting

their is a control valve between the inlet and exhaust manifolds ?? with a vacumn pipe running to it ,ECG ,just pull the thin vac pipe off and try that .If that doesnt work then take to diesel specialist firm and have the pump overhauled ,it could be problem with the electric controled cold start ,or an electric sensor problem ,but try the vac pipe first

I have a ford focus V reg have had it since november last year and it has started bellowing black smoke out of the exhaust, car is running fine no performance lose or anything, however this have happened...

Usually - black smoke is unburned gas..
Could be bad gas..
Could be an intake issue causing wrong mixture of gas & air..
Try using a higher octain..

White and blue smoke ford fiesta

Your car is burning oil. This is most likely due to leaking valve seals. That would explain why the car is losing oil but not coolant.

2005 GMC Seirra 4.8l excessive oil consumption.

this is not a very good sign really. if you rev up to about 4-5 thusand rpm (more than usual) while driving in a safe mannor of course and see smoke then you will find the piston rings are probably going. you might al;so want to take into consideration that your valve stem oil seals are all internal as well so no real sign of could also be the culprit.
