Try disconnecting the battery cable for two minutes and check if you still get the problem.

The problem is probably with the automatic gear shift control module, which is a computer. If you do not clear the problem you will need to go to a garage. the mechanics will connect a scanner to car computer, get an error message in return, diagnose and repair the problem.

94 mazda protage car wont start no power and the gear shift wont move

Your gear shift won't move because there is an interlock which prevents taking your car out of PARK unless your foot is on the brake. Since the release solenoid is electric, and you appear not to have any electricity, you will not be able to move the shift lever unless you use the Emergency Release (described in your Owner's Manual).
As to your lack of power, perhaps a dead battery? (Good place to start checking!)

1994 mitshubishi mirage when its cold doesnt want to shift autmatic transmisson when it heats up it shifts normal?

it sounds like your transmisssion oil may be low. i would check this first ond would also make sure its thin enough, if the oil is old and thick i will struggle to change gear until its warmed up and thinned down. i would also check if the oil cooler is part of the coolant radiator. it has been known for coolant to leak in to the gearbox through the cooler

let me know if this helps

cheers

Replace shift lever and now gears are stuck I removed the shifting lever and still stuck, what did I do wrong? please help!!!

I do not know the particular details of Intrepids, but in most modern automatic vehicles there is an electric lockout gate that will not let you pull the lever out of park UNLESS you are stepping on the brake, or in some cars, unless it is turned on. There is a good possibility that you forgot to reattach the cable that powers this gate, in the bottom of the shifter assembly, when you reassembled the shifter lever.

Nissan 04 sentra Have to move shifter around to get car to start.

Try loosening the shift cable at the transmission. Then wiggle the linkage and make sure the gear selector is in park, and tighten the cable. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

1996ford econ Shifting gear problem

Almost definately, follow the shift linkages down the column and under the bonnet get a buddy to move them while you are looking the worn parts will be very obvious. quite involved to repair if it all needs to be overhauled, may be best to be left to an experianced tech, unless you have relevent experience. it wont start somtimes because the inhibitor switch is on the linkage.
