How do I remove a block heater from 2009 Dodge Caliber?

Not working or not wanted? If its not working or not needed, just cut the cord off as close to the engine block as possible. Is it leaking? If it is leaking, Drain coolant and locate the heater on the engine block. There is a nut or bolt in the center of the heater that may be able to be tightened to stop the leaking. If you have to remove it, then loosen the nut or bolt and pull the heater out and replace with a "quick freeze plug" that will look similar without the element and cord, clean the opening and put in ant tighten. Some are in line with the lower radiator hose. If it is, Drain coolant and replace lower radiator hose. Some mechanics may want to tell you that a "freeze plug" has to be put in and may be costly depending on the location of the block heater. Don't forget to put coolant back in.

I have a Mazda CX7 2007 GT, I have a block heater in the car but the cord was pulled off when I drove with it still plugged in. I need to know where the block heater is so I can get a new cord.

There aren't many places to fit a cooling system heater in a stock engine, the classic method of fitting an aftermarket heater for cold climates is in a modified bottom radiator hose.

Can't find my block heater cord in my 2012 ford escape. It is listed as standard equipment

If your car has a cord, you will see it in one of the front plugs or you will find it wounded up behind the bumper or top of the fuse compartment.

Where is the block heater location on a 2005 Lincoln LS ?

It is on the side of the block you will need to jack the car up and look for the freeze plug that has the block heated connected to it.

My 1990 k1500 with a 5.7 V8 is froze up and it has a cord for ablock heater but its not plugged into anything, its jus rolled up and strapped down, and i have been trying to find the location of the block...

One end of the power cord you found has a common plug that gets plugged into an extension cord to normal house power. You need to trace the other end back to the engine. The block heater is installed in one of the freeze plug holes in the side of the block. If you find the end of the wire goes nowhere and don't see a heater installed, likely at some point the one that was there failed and was replaced with a normal freeze plug. You'd then need to install a new one (may be tricky if the water in the block is frozen though) Do not attempt to start a frozen engine as any water in the water pump can damage the pump impeller if you try to turn it. Your best bet at thawing it out is either to tow it somewhere that is warm or build a tent over it with a large tarp and use electric room heaters to warm it. (keep heaters away from tarp and make sure there are no fuel leaks) It takes several hours to warm it so be patient.

I am looking for the location of the block heater plug on a 1997 Golf diesel, thanks

There is no specific spot for a block heater. A block heater can be in any location the block currently has a freeze plug in. You'll need to look over the block carefully - you will see several round "ports" on the block and one of them will have a wire coming out of it. A freeze plug looks kind of like a small dish in the block, whereas a block heater will look more like a flat plug with a wire. It could be on the side or back of your motor - rarely is there room for a block heater on the front of a motor. Look in the front grill or in the general area of the radiator and you should see one end of a male electric cord( like the end of a lamp cord you stick in the wall ) . Follow this wire to the engine and it will lead you to the location of the block heater. You will probably need an inspection mirror and a flashlight to find the other end ( in the block).
Hope this helps!

Location of block heater cable on 05 F350 diesel

The block heater is already installed in your 6.0. The cord may not be there as it is an option in some states and standard equipment in others. The best way to see if your cord is there is to crawl under and look up by the # 4 cyl and you will either see 2 prongs sticking out for the cord or you will see the cord. The cord should end in the front bumper behind where the front tag would be. If you dont have the cord Id suggest getting it off ebay as it should be cheaper than the dealer. Hope this helps.

I need to find the engine heater plug in cord from my new-to-me 1997 F350 diesel

Look at the passenger side of the block. The rear freeze plug should have a block heater instead of a freeze plug. It'll be the rear freeze plug. If all you see is a 3 prong plug, the cord somehow got lost. I replaced on a truck very similar to yours. I got the entire assembly from NAPA. It comes with the piece that goes into the side of the block and has the cord with it so you can plug it into an AC outlet.
