Rock solid peddles are mainly because of:
1: ABS pump. 2: Leaking or blocked air pipe. 3: Faulty brake master servo.
You are almost there!

My 1997 land rover discovery is stuck in park

This can sometimes happen when the brake sensor is not being activated. If you press *really* hard on the brake, you can sometimes get it to trip, allowing you to get out of park. Generally, the sensor will have to be replaced, but I have had one car (2002 Ford Explorer) where this trick would make it work for months at a time.

I have a 2 dr 1997 disco how much of a job is it to weld in new sills? does the rear pannel need to be removed?

big job but doable.
welding in new 50x100 3mm box section instead of soft sills as this wont rot out and you get funky rock sliders built in!
bit of fabricating of body to chassis mounts but no harder than welding in after market panels. good pics on lr4x4 forum.

I cant put my rover into gear. What do i do?

take it to a workshop that either can repair automatic transmissions or manual transmissions, i dont know hich because you dont say what type of gearbox you have. If its a manual, then is the clutch faulty ? if its automatic then do you have any oil in the gearbox ?

Land rover clutch. can't get into gear

it's an odd occurance but it sounds like the hydraulic fluid in the clutch lined may have boiled. it's usually okay once it's cooled down, but if the pedal feels weird you may want to bleed your line.
