My 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 Slt V8 sputters and pops at low RPM when slowly accelerating. Usually more prevalant after the engine is warm. If I get off the gas then back on, it is ok. Have replaced:plugs, plug wires, distributor and rotor cap, and used SeaFoam. Any ideas. Thanks

My 2000 silverado stalls and sputters and pops when theres less than half a tank of gas

Have your pickup unit inside fuel tank checked. Sometimes the rubber lines that connects the fuel pump to pickup tube deteriorates. When fuel level gets below the connection, the system will draw air in and the sputtering will occur. Also check the charcoal cannister and return lines for clogging.

Runs good shut off for a few minutes restart runs terrible engine spits and sputters

A bad fuel pump may cause a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9l to run for a few minutes and just shut off without sputtering. It can also be that the fuel pressure regulator (on top of fuel pump assembly) is stopped up. 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 engine sputters at low rpm

hello i am a independent shop owner and i recently had a 01' dodge 1500 5.2L engine and it seemed to have the same symptoms as your car, i checked fuel pressure and it seemed to be around 49 which is still considered normal and also i did check the distributor cap and each spark point had corroded parts on the tips but before i replaced any parts i disconnected the bank 1 sensor 1 oxygen sensor and noticed that the car never sputtered again.. so in my case i recommended to my customer to first replace the o2 sensor! Hope this helps cheers!

if there is not a vacuum leak it seems that the signal wire to the MAP is either open or shorted to 5 volt reference wire. if not either of those may be the PCM
