I have p1320 code in my 2000 maxima

code p 1320 refers to ignition signal---circuit malfunction===causes wiring---ignition coil/ module---ignition system---crank position sensor---ECM
the light will remain until it is reset by the scan tool
At this point from your description of cooling down , the fault may be in the ignition module ( over heating from internal problem)
The crank sensor may have a similar problem

I have 2007 maxima 3.5 i did tune up, at first it idled around 2000rpm, cleared the code for high idle and now its surging? Any ideas, i thought the computer would would set the idle back to normal.

Nissans require a special relearn procedure that is done with a professional, bidirectional scan tool.It only takes a few minutes but you need the right equipment.

you do not calibrate a mass air flow sensor. If you are trying to adjust the idle it can be doen but the right way to do it is perform "Idle Volume Learn" You can only do this with a nissan scan tool called a consult.

My maxima is idling quickly, and it continues to do so whilst driving even after the motor has warmed up. what do I need to do to fix this??

First check for any disconnected vacuum hoses. If good, have the car scanned at a local auto parts store to see if any pending codes are present. There may be a problem with the idle air control motor or the throttle position sensor.

2000 maxima with no overdrive and code po744 .no tranny slipage in1-2 shift or 2-3 shift, very smooth.the od light works and comes on and off when the od button is pushed.

This code indicates a mechanical problem inside the transmission. Likely in the valve body or the torque converter. He is a description of the cause and a list of possible problems. To diagnose this you need a scan tool capable of reading the trans control module and a pressure guage to read the fluid pressure.

Anyone know how to get the OBD codes from a 2000 Maxima without the use of the OBD II tool?

i dont think you are able to get the codes without a scanner but if you go to autozone, kragen, or pepboys they should let you scan it for free

Car idle revs

If the check engine light is on, take the car to an autoparts store and have them use a scan tool to retrieve any fault codes stored in the computer. Most parts stores will perform the scan at no charge. Getting the codes will go a long way toward identifying what the problem is. I would look at a faulty idle air control valve, but getting the codes should end the speculation. Hope this helped and best wishes.

2000 maxima with 84,000 miles

the code means the converter on the side cyliner # 2 is not working like it should ,to check to be sure you need a scan tool and data from the front and rear o2 sesor cannot mimic each other if they do the converter is bad ,there are aftermarket converters for that car but they dont preform as well as the factoy one .

I'm the original owner of a 2005 vw beetle, less than 11,000 miles, but out of mfg warranty. MIL light has started showing, with a very irregular idle. Any idea what could be causing this?

Best thing to do is if there is an Auto Zone near to you, have them scan the can for the DTC code which should be related to your irregular idle. There to many things that can cause the idle problem you have and with the DTC code, that should explain or at least lead us to the cause of the irregular idle. Auto Zone all so scan free of charge and can give you the step by step instructions to repairing the car to have it run 100% again. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help
