Question about Chrysler Concorde

1 Answer

Left rear brake light will not work. Bulb is O.K. Flashers work but steeping on the brake pedal doesn't make left rear light work.

Hi,

A couple of possibilities:

  • corroded bulb socket - most brake lights are integrated with the rear park lights. The bulb socket would have 2 contacts, try checking if they are clean and reaches the mate in the end of the bulb;
  • wrong installation - the bayonet socket of most park/brake lights combo are offset, there is a right and wrong way if installing it into the bulb socket;
  • loose wire - it would be required to trace the left brake wire to where it joins with that of the right;
  • loose ground - same as above or a workaround is to wire an additional ground wire from the housing of the bulb socket to any screw that is connected to the body ground.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

No brake, turn signal, or flashers at rear of 2006 chevy express 2500

Sounds like a bad turn signal switch. I bet if you wiggle the turn signal lever while you have your foot on the brake pedal the left and right brake lights ill intermittently work.

My brake lights arent working but my emergency flashers are. would that be a fuse or a wiring problem?

if the third brake light is working and the left and right brake lights are not than the most likely problem is the turn signal multifunction switch.

If the third brake light is also not working and the bulb is good than check the brake light switch located above the brake pedal under the dash. There should be power on one wire all the time. There should be another wire that powers up with the brake pedal depressed. If no wires power up with the pedal depressed than the switch is bad.

I can get you specific wire information if you need it. Just let me know.

2001 dodge 2500. Rear brake lights will not work. Center brake light works, blinkers, flashers and tail lights work. No fuses blown.

obviously first check the bulbs. If they are fine, check that a brake light connector is not diconnected. I have seen it once. The connector was used to power an accesory on the rear instead. Also, the connector or bulb sockets could be rusted or loosly connected. Hope this helps.

Brake lights not working at tail lights but the light in the rear window does come on when brake pedal is pushed.....regular tail lights come on...right and left turn signals also work ....flashers...

the upper brake light works differently than the outer lights. check your brake light switch by the brake pedal.It will have a plunger switch on it. The center brake lamp works off a power convertor instead off the brake light switch. The switch has a separate wire for that which is still working

Brake lights not working on 2003 E 350

Have you checked the fuse for the brake lights and have you checked the brake light switch.
The brake light switch is directly above your foot when it is placed on the brake pedal.

Left brake light stays on

Usually when your signal blinks rapidly it indicates a blown bulb.   Switch on your four-way flashers and check your bulbs at each corner.  On the brake light staying lit, check to see if the left-rear bulb is installed correctly and is the correct bulb for the application.  I've seen people force bulbs in sockets causing the braking element of the bulb to light instead of the parking element.  The braking element is much brighter than the parking element.

Left rear brake light stopped working but bulb and fuses are OK.

These are Dual Function Bulbs. They control the Parking Lights and the Brake Lights. This Bulb is Burnt out on the Brake Coil inside the Bulb. I have actually seen Bulbs that were Bad But you could not Tell by jast looking at them. It should be fine with a New Bulb. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!
