    Premium Problem to bro...

    http://www.fixya.com/support/t847516-rec...

I recently acquired a 94 splash 2.3, we recharged the ac and it came off and on about 3 times within a few seconds and will not restart, even after additional recharging, checked the fuse and relay all appear to be working, what do you think could be my problem.
the compressor kicked on about 3 time for a few seconds when we first put in the can of r134, then stopped and will not kick om again, I do not know how to check the compressor, please advise

while the system was being recharged we also noticed the gauge would start out as full and slowly drop to the bottom.

Need know where expansion valve is on 2007 nission quest

Have you checked your system pressure? Are you sure that it is kicking out for high pressure? and not low pressure and just need a bit of charge? If it is kicking out on the high side for a clogged expansion valve you have to remember that an A/C system is a sealed system, if there is debris inside of the system and has clogged the expansion valve that there is only once place for it to come from and I would expect to be changing the compressor soon.

Recharged AC, blew cold for 1 day then heard hiss near driver tire and now no cold air.

Whenever you add Freon, you are suppose to leak test first.Your compressor is good, you have a leak somewhere.A good place to take it to is Midas, they changed my freon over from the old stuff to the new R-134a,they leak test it first, that is rule 1 when adding freon.

Why does the mass air flow code comes back after replacing the sensor?

Mass Air Flow sensor just measures incoming air flow at a predetermined rpm/load. The computer is saying the flow measurement is not correct. This can be caused by mechanical faults within the engine like a bad valve seat or timing chain but would generally be accompanied by backfires through the intake. Usually its caused by a vacume leak between the sensor and the intake valve, like the intake manifold, loose intake pipe clamps, broken vacume lines,a leaking vacume brake booster [it will hiss loud when you apply the brake],bad spark plugs/wires, a clogged catalytic converter, stuck open egr valve or pcv valve, bad oxygen sensor or even a very clogged air filter. I know there is a lot listed but the MAF or MAP sensors show general flow through the engine that can be affected by several things. A vacume tester from your local auto parts store is about 30bucks and usually has instructions how to test for vac. leaks within the engine also to determine a if thers is bad valve seat or clogged exhaust.

I have a 1997 caravan my air condition has gas, the blower works, but the air is not getting cold. Why?

It's not holding it's charge...There's a leak somewhere in it's coils somewhere in the system. Likely you will not find it neither. It's a 97 Caravan; It's seen it's best days. Ac guy will likely tell you the same thing. Replace the whole system $2100 or ...

97 suburban rear a/c doesnt get cold but front works great

the expansion valve is in the rear ac housing and it is bolted directly to the rear evaporator. it is an actual expansion valve and not an orifice tube. the part is about $45. the interior on the passenger side has to come out along with the entire rear ac sytem.

Rear ac on 94 surburban blows warm, front is cold. Is there only one orifice on the dual air system.

The rear air has an expansion valve in the rear of the cargo area right next to the rear evaporator. There is no orifice or filter between the condenser and the rear expansion valve so if there is any debris in the line it will clog the expansion valve. The orifice under the hood is only in the front circuit so if the front is cooling and the rear is not, most likely the expansion valve is clogged and needs to be replaced.

There is a factory service bulletin on how to r&r the expansion valve. It requires some cutting since they did not design it to be replaced. Part of the service bulletin is adding an inline filter at the outlet of the condenser before the front and rear flows divide. That will keep the rear from clogging up again.

I have a 94 Suburban and I had to do this in about 1998. With the filter I haven't had any problems since.
