Question about Jeep Wrangler

2 Answers

I have a 2005 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Straight 6cyl with 6 speed manual transmission. If I sit with the enigne running and the AC for 10 minutes or more the check engine light comes on and the engine cuts out when the RPMS reach 2500 and the cruise control will not work, after it cools off the problem goes away. The temperature only goes up about 10 degrees

I made a mistake in my inital post. It is a 2006 Jeep wrangler Unlimited. After sitting with the engine running and the AC on for an extended period the check engine light comes on and the engine will not rev above 2500 rpm and the cruise control will not turn on. It is the same if you put it in gear or in neutral, the motor runs fine and you can drive but not above 2500 RPMS. If I stop and let it sit for 30 minutes or so and cool, the check engine light goes out and it runs fine with full engine response. The jeep has a straight 6 4.0L engine and a six speed manual transmission

Chances are there are rust particles in your tank.

you can remove the tank and have it cleaned or just

1.) changes the filter on the fuel pump
2.) change the fuel filter
3.) service the injectors..

but basically i'd recommend you pump the fuel from the tank, take it out and have it cleaned or you can pour liquid lay into it, let it sit over night then was it out with water in the morning and then just let it dry. then you must .

1.) changes the filter on the fuel pump
2.) change the fuel filter
3.) service the injectors..

Did you have a diagnostic test done. The mass air flow sensor or the engine thermostat could be malfunctioning. Change you changed the transmission oil ?

HP-2004 work for 2.5L and 4.0L

Manual Transmission
The level of lubricant in the transmission should be maintained at the filler hole on all manual transmissions. This hole is on the right side. When you check the level in the transmission, make sure that the vehicle is level so that you get a true reading. When you remove the filler plug, lubricant should run out of the hole. Replace the plug quickly for a minimum loss of lubricant. If lubricant does not run out of the hole when the plug is removed, lubricant should be added until it does. Replace the plug as soon as the lubricant reaches the level of the hole.

DRAIN AND REFILL
Remove the drain plug which is at the bottom of the transmission. Allow all the lubricant to run out before replacing the plug. Replace the case with the correct viscosity oil. All manual transmissions use SAE 75W-90 API quality Grade GL-5 gear lubricant. Tighten the fill hole plug to 27 ft. lbs. (37 Nm).

I hope help you with this (rermember rated this help) Good luck.
