Question about 2002 Dodge Neon

1 Answer

2001 Neon has loss of power, intermittently. This started with a plug that look liked it was overheated and threads misformed. Have replace PCM, coil pack, plugs, wires. Still getting a PO601, not sure this means much

Have you checked you O2 sensors. or the Mass air flow sensor. both could cause the problems you described.

2001 Pathfinder. Intermittently fails to start. Need to replace the Ignition Relay but can't find it in either fuse box. Where is it?

Ignition is run from different relays. PCM,ASD. Come to mind. There can be several ignition fuses and several for the PCM. Best to have the history codes read. When something doesn't work, then does, it may not turn on a light, but will record a code. Being 15 years old and intermittent, I would look at the electrical plugs and wires first.

1989 lesabre stumbles and dies

I agree it sounds like the magnet for the cam sensor, or a problem in the wiring harness.
I don't think the engine will run with the cam sensor disconnected since it needs that signal to set base timing. It can run without the crank sensor once the engine starts.
There is a slight chance the timing chain is getting loose and affecting cam timing too. You may be loosing plastic teeth on the cam gear.

Trouble codes 1391,0622

Sounds like you have 2 different issues. the p01391 is and intermittent loss of cam or crank sensor without a scope guess work is your only hope. Start by replacing cam sensor. easiest and cheapest. Then crank sensor if cam sensor doesn't fix it. If neither one of those fix it your looking at some very expensive repairs (pcm, wiring or flex plate)
The p0622 is a charging system problem possible causes are pcm, alternator or wiring.

2001 Dakota compression loss, smells like gas, white smoke from exhaust

Sorry but this has happened to me before, you might have a blown head gasket. that is where oil and or water are getting in to the piston cylinder and causing the white smoke cause the oil and water is being burnt or boiled.take it to a shop unless you have all the right tools and knowledge to do this job. i cost me like $1500 labor and parts.

I have a 2001 dodge neon that has this code obd11 what is it

code 11 means intermittent loss of either camshaft or crankshaft position sensor. check connections to both sensors. also look for any damage to the wires connected to each sensor. either sensor will set off a signal to pcm of a no crank referance signal detected during engine cranking.

Battery Disconnected Within Last 50 Starts
The PCM has lost power while the car is off. Your battery posts may be corroded or a battery wire may be losing it's connection. Inspect the cables and make sure they are secured and make sure the terminals are clean. Also a dying battery could trigger this as you draw a lot of power from it when you start the engine and this could get low enough to trip the PCM.

It can only be a few things for this. My neon had some power loss one time. I replaced all the wires, plugs, and bought a msd ignition coil pack.. try just checking your plugs and wires
