If your car is convertible.
You need to remove the Door panel . because in convertible cars
The window is adjustable..
But if Your car is not convertible.
You need to remove the door panel. and check the window regulator and all the guides. they can be losse.
Check the stoped at the top inside of the door. or in the window regulator.
I hope this can be a start to fix your window.
Thank you for use fixya...

Inside the door is the motor and rak unit to controll the windows.. What you need to do is take of the upholestry, then lower the motor and rack unit or the windows pane until you have it to the position that you think it should be in.

I have a 97 discovery.i found lately the cruise control is not working and the rear electric windows not working either. I checked all the fuses all ok and i checked the the switches for the rear windows...

Me a sparky too - found this on another website and it worked - for rear windows - you need to find a switched hot and splice it into the white wire going into the electric window ECM located on the far right side under the glovebox (I removed the glovebox, 4 7mm bolt on bottom to make easier). the white wire is staring right at you when you pull the glovebox out on the right side - part of a wire connector with purple.black.grey wires going into it. 12 gauge.

How do you adjust the windows on a 1988 celica convertible to stop water leaks. It has electric windows.

You have to take off the door panel. There should be adjustments in there to set where the window stops.

WONT OPEN EVEN WHEN ITS UNLOCKED AND THE ELECTRIC WINDOWS DONT WORK

Sounds like door switch is making the unlock sound, but is not actually activating the door lock. You need to take off the door panel and operate the door lock/unlock switch and watch to see if the lock actually works on the door itself. Now as far as the windows are concerned, I assume when you say windows, you mean all windows, from any window switch. CHECK THE WINDOW FUSE, and tell me all results.

Speedometer not working

I think you may have a problem with the BCM (body control module) as far as the wipers and windows anyway, the other issue may or may not be related, run a system test for trouble codes, you may have a VSS problem or the speedo head circuit board may have failed , it is electronic.
