2 things come to mind....the pick up coil in the distributor (Autozone #CR150 and the crankshaft position sensor (Autozone #SU3027
If it turns out to be this, please don't take my word for it on the part numbers, but in any event you should be able to these items for less than $50 each.

Have 99 suburban 5.7. Just had fuel pump, filter, distributor, cap and rotor, spark plugs and wires, control module and coil replaced a little over a year ago. Drove great until it just shut off recently...

You might check for a fuel shut off valve. Some vehicles have them in case of an accident, it turns off the fuel pump. Some are just a relay that can be reset.

Engine cranks but won t start

run the fault codes and see what comes up . IT may be that there is a low fuel pressure problem from a pump that is not getting a true voltage until the alternator is charging.

2000 infiniti QX4 3.3L (engine has a distributer) stalls out especially when revved from idle. Also won't start or very difficult to start, haven't been able to get it to start for a couple days...

pull one ignition cable out of cap just enough to see the tip of connector and crank it, a spark should jump from cap to tip of wire. no spark means you need the whole distributor replaced. buy it from nissan or infiniti dealer, it comes with cap rotor installed and 12 mo 12k mile warranty, no matter who installs it. dont waste time with aftermarket rebuilt distributor, those are not reliable. https://parts.infinitiusa.com/

Truck wont crank. we have put new distributor cap, rotor button, coil pack, plugs, wires, and fuel pump. we also checked our firing order.

you said you repl dist cap that means you don't have a crank sensor you have electronic ing module. remove your elec ing module have it tested most auto parts stores could test your module, or check your coil at the neg terminal. should have power. if not you lost your primary volt from your batt.your secondary power is coming from your electronic ing module from the module to the pos terminal on the coil, when the eng cranks, from the coil to the dist cap , from the dist cap center to the rotor then out to the plugs, this all happen pervided the timing belt or timing chain is ok. the cumbustion chainber needs 3 things , thats fuel, air, and spark.

Just driving and car would stop...3wks ago oil/trans oil changed..someone said my fuel filter or pump...after letting it sit for a while it would start and run fine...did it again had my fuel filter...

The coil pack modules are a common red flagged problem when they heat up. If you could get some one or your self to take the part off, easy to do, you can get it tested at your local napa for free. Other wise, if you give me more information, I may or may not be able to help.
