2003 gmc envoy won't start and cannot remove key

Ignition switch needs to be replaced, common problem.

To get your key out: look under the key on the column cover. You'll either see a hole there or an outline where a hole was supposed to be. If the hole is there, push in the solenoid to release your key. If the hole isn't there, carefully cut or drill the plastic out there, and push the solenoid there. I believe they quit putting the hole there in 03', BUT like mine, you'll see a faint outline in the plastic of a hole. -->
