Question about 2007 Toyota Camry

1 Answer

Toyota corolla SE 2007

Car fire started in the driveway. The car had not been driven for more than 24 hours and the fire department said that it started under the seat. Is there a problem with the cables catching fire under the driver seat?

Not at the present time. i haven't seen any recalls due to a possible electrical fire ignition under driver seat for the Camry SE or any other model. Your insurance should take care of it no problem since it wasn't your fault. Hope this will help.

Why is this vehicle not under recall

Probably because there have not been enough repairs to suggest there was is manufacturing defect or a safety concern. The vehicle may have been abused, subjected to a large amount of road salt, partially submerged, etc. Also, these parts might just be worn out. Some cars are driven 4, 5 or more TIMES as far as other cars that are the same age. Further, cars driven at highway speeds most of the time will last longer than the same car driven over dirt roads.

My 1990 corolla wont start after I have driven it for a few hours

Some of the tests I can recommend for free require the car to be driven to Autozone, Advance, or Oreilys. You need to have the charging system and the battery checked. Then they can check the "draw" of the rebuilt starter for performance. Or have the starter removed and bench checked. It should have some type of warranty.

Now other problems can cause you to destroy a starter. One of them being a malfunctioning Alarm lockout. When the battery is low, a lockout may still reduce the voltage to the starter on purpose. This is a form of antitheft.

You need to explain to us if the engine was turning over before and if the engine tried to fire at all. Some heat related failures occur in the coil.

I hope my solution was helpful.

the toyota corolla is the WORLDS most reliable car, even more reliable than mercedes....and its cheap for bits(breakers yards) so dont worry, its mainly those trying to knock japanese cars that put them down.
