Service guy says that the condenser needs to be replaced (2nd time!) I have a mechanic friend who can possibly do it. Is this a major undertaking?
Visit your closest Auto Zone if you have one. If there is a
part available through their store they will also give you directions
on the installation. If not then possible purchase a repair
manual for up to like 24 dollars and this may have the instructions for
it. Question is it ONLY your AC. Or the entire control
panel related to heating and cooling?

I've had the same problem. Now I'm deciding whether to dump this POS or replace the condenser again. Go American engineering!
