For Automatic climate control, you need a new blower motor controle module.

For Manual controls, you need a new blower motor resistor assembly.

I need to use the heater. The key must be all the back,or the heater won't turn on. When not running, if heater is left on, the head lamp switch controls the heater, not sure where the shorts could be

Mano, can you please be a little more specific on the problems that you are experiencing ? Really not able to understand how many problems you have. Also try to check your battery and fuses.

I turn the heater off an the blower motor contimues to run. Why?

Is your front defroster on? Turn everything off. Is it always running? Can you adjust the speed of the blower motor? If the speeds are messed up or if the blower is always on, then its a bad blower motor resistor. It's located on the blower motor in the dash. The resistor is inexpensive but the labor could be much more money. But usually not.

I suggest you try one of those instant download manuals. My nephew bought one for me when my car broke and we could fix it all by ourselves with the manual costing $10. This website reliable-store.com is very good for this.
?Try it.

Car revs up on its own, and also the temperature gauge never rises. it is always on zero.

If temp. guage never rises...most likely the radiator thermostat is stuck in the open position, therefore always running coolant thru the motor. Kills your gas mileage, because the engine is always running cold. And you won't get much heat when you turn the heater on. If this is so, have the thermostat changed.

My defrost is always running even when I turn everything off. Hot air is always coming out. I can not turn anything eles on.

what year is your truck and does it have autotemp,First thing to check is open the hood and locate the heater hoses, where the heater hoses pass thru the firewall should be a small plastic vacume line follow this back to the engine and make sure its not broke or disconnected from vacume source

Oldsmobile silhouette 1999 heater does not heat in the van

it's either because your coolant isn't hot enough or your heater core is clogged and needs to be replaced.. you might wanna replace your thermostat.. because if thats stuck open then your coolant will constantly be cooled .. and thats not a good thing!!

Heater fan wont shut off when ignition is turned off.

Should have a blower control unit. Sometinmes these are known to leave the blower running on low speed with the key off.
