Is it sputtering and if you tap the gas, will it stay running? if so, it is probably a cover on the hose that runs to the air intake it is a part you get at the dealer, or you can use duct tape to cover it and it will work until you get the part.

Ran out of gas in 2003 Dodge Durango I see the bleeder on the top of fuel line, are there any others

Not that I'm aware of, if you put gas in your tank the pump should push the gas right up to the bleeder within seconds, If you turn your key to the on position but not to the engine start position and listen real closely, you should hear your fuel pump kick on for about 2 seconds, if you can't hear it, then open you gas cap and put your ear to the filler hole, then have someone turn the key to on, you should be able to hear the pump for about 2 seconds, if you don't then either the fuse, relay, or wiring to the pump, or the pump itself went out. you can also check to see if you have an external filter on your frame rail, it could be clogged now that the truck was run out of gas.
Also what most people don't know is that their fuel pump is cooled by the gas in the tank, when someone runs the gas down so low that the low fuel light comes on, the pump starts getting hot and this actually hurts the pump causing early failure of the pump if this is done repeatedly. Always try to keep at least 1/4 tank of gas so the pump can stay cool. Good Luck

Ran fine, shut off. Came back out, turned over but not start. Had jump started twice but put in gear and died. Question: I know low on gas, can this effect anything?

Possibly a fuel supply issue. Will require a fuel pressure tester. Could be in tank pump or a bad fuel pump relay. In a quiet environment, turn key on (not start position ) and listen if you can hear the guel pump run for 1 or 2 seconds.

Fuel not staying primed

pull the vacum line off your fuel pressure regulator. If it smells gasy or has gas dripping from it, replace the regulator.

My 91 cutless ran out of gas one day and has never ran right since. Replaced ever sensor on the car, fuel pump every thing. Runs good for 2 or 3 days and then it won't stay started. Went out few mouths...

You may have loaded a fuel line or connector up with contaminants. What else is happening during the second or 3rd day of running? Is it running low on fuel? Try to make a list of your gauge set! It only makes sense.

My car was low on gas, started but then died. We put gas in, but the car won't start now. What is wrong?

sounds like your fuel pump has retired on you, running you car low on gas is hard on pump, they are cooled by the gas an are lubercated by the gas, I hope this helps you

My 2001 new Beetle will not stay running. It starts up, then 5-8 seconds later will sputter out and die. If I pump the gas peddle a bit after it starts, it trys to stay running longer but then sputters out...

Hi There,
Try this: You will need 2 people - Have someone Spray Starting Fluid in the throttle then start the car and have someone spray the fluid continuously into the throttle. If the car continues to run you have a fuel problem, but if it stalls out, replace the coil pak. Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

Wont stay running

sometimes when you drain the gas or run low on gas the car is hard to start and keep running...if you can get it started let it run for awhile on its own to get the air out of the line and see how it does then

1987 k-5 blazer cranks and starts but won't stay running

Sounds like a large vacuum leak, low fuel pressure, fuel pressure regulator failure, idle air control valve stuck open, plugged fuel filter. Also check for good consistent blue spark at spark plugs or jumped timing chain.Hope this helps!
