I have a 1995 grand marquis Ls I power washed around the oil pan. When I was done I found a washer that looked like a snap ring on the ground. The od is 1 9/16 INCH. THE ID APROX 1 IN. The id has tabs that makes it look like a snap ring of some kind. it appears to be solid like a regular washer on the diameter. There are no holes that you would put a snap ring tool into to install. Can you tell me what it came off of so I can replace it before something falls apart.

Hi,

Does it look something like the image below?
I have a 1995 grand - b6cc8b7.jpg
If no, pls reference this page or this to identify.

If yes, then form initial appearance, said washer is general purpose and could and would be used in most big bolts. It could be the lockwasher for:

  • engine mount/support;
  • or any of the numerous bolts that it would fit.
Chances are that it was left there inadvertently by somebody who worked in your engine during your last repair work. There is no way that it would fall out on its own not unless the bolt that is inserted to has likewise fallen of.

Pls check if you are likewise missing a bolt.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

I recomend try to show at any Autopart store. Or autorepair shop. Because if I can't see it. Is impossible to know exactly where they come. Maybe just was left in the engine. for an other guy. or mechanic.

Or you can send a picture. to try located the posistion of the washer. If is Aluminum or plastic. Is for the oil drain plug.

I hope this help on your question.

Changing a oil pan for a 95 grand marquis

Just loosen oil plug and drain...take out pan bolts... drop down...make sure alt gasket material is off of both pan and bottom of motor. Lay new gasket on oil pan...possibly use gasket sealer to keep gasket in place...a very thin layer on oil pan then put gasket on. Let dry for a bit then bolt back up...make sure oil plug is back in then refill....cheers!

I hav 2000 grand marqius ls - When I changed spark plog thei found engine oil on it particularly cylinder No. 3 and 4 that the car was Shaking before I change the spark

When you get oil into the cylinders that are side by side, you may have a bad head gasket or bad stem seals on the valves. When all 4 cylinders on that side of the engine are oil-covered you can have additional problems like bad piston rings.

You should have a compression test to determine what the condition of the rings is before removing a head. If the compression is good, a good mechanic may be able to change the Valve seals without a complete teardown. If not, the problem must be fixed by pulling the bad head.

Whole in oil pan how do i fix

Rather than buying new oil pan, if you drain oil, remove oil pan, take it to local welding shop they can most likely weld/patch it. They can not weld it if not taken off ( fire problem) but personally what I would do is search junk yards or you pull it and replace whole oil pan, might be more effective and cheaper in the long run.

What is the tire size for a 1995 Mercury Marquis?

On Firestone's site it says for a 1995 Grand Marquis with the handling package, the tire size is P225/60R16 with or without the TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system).

For a 1995 Grand Marquis GS/LS with or without TPMS it says the tire size is P215/70R15.

The page I entered in the info is here:

Hope this helps.
