P0300 is a multible/random misfire, did you change the plug wires also !

  • Faulty spark plugs or wires
  • Faulty coil (pack)
  • Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
  • Faulty fuel injector(s)
  • Burned exhaust valve
  • Faulty catalytic converter(s)
  • Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages
  • Faulty camshaft position sensor
  • Defective computer

If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.

Gm code po300

This is a misfire code. Start with the basics, fuel filter, spark plugs, vacuum leaks, wires etc. If after checking/changing necessary parts, if problem persists you will need to go deeper as in coils and computer controlled parts such as map sensor, maf sensor

Driving down the road the power stops can not jump it

Air filter clogged, fuel not reaching the fuel injection system. Corroded battery connections especially the ground. Faulty coolant temperature sensor or intake air temperature sensor. Give it a tune-up change the air filter, fuel filter and pressure regulator, spark plugs and wires. If it is one ignition coil it'll be easy to change so change it too. Change the engine oil and filter. I strongly recommend a tune-up but the problem is caused by one or two of the mentioned sensors. Give it a tune-up and replace the coolant sensor first, let me know how it goes.

2004 gmc sierra

give it a complete tune up and change the fuel filter if that does fix it then check for a vapor lock and bad fuel pressure regulator

Routine Maintenance

I would change transmission fluid and differential fluids. check to see if it has a fuel filter also I know they stopped putting an inline filter somewhere around your year model and just has one in tank that doesnt have to be changed. you can also change air filter and inside cabin air filter located behind glove box . The spark plugs are platinum good for 100,000 then tune up needs to be done. plugs and wires, use only ac delco platinum plugs and ac delco wires. a little more expensive but way better to me than the others. they have coil packs so there is no distributor cap or button to replace.
