SOURCE: spark plugs on 2002 Saturn vue

just completed a plug removal and install on my '02 awd v6. if you have the time and patience it's straight forward; common sense was most helpful. to gain access to the plugs, both fore and aft, you must remove, in short, everything near to, associated with, the air intake system. common tools plus a 1/4 socket, with 8 inch extension to hold a #10 star bit. these star bolts are under the rectangular plastic plate atop the intake. once you have those out, disconnect all the wiring, carefully. lift the intake out, look for plug covers, fore and aft, ignition assembly lays atop each row of three plugs. with the hands of a surgeon, remove the ignition assembly, and by golly ye shall see your reward. easy from then on.
replaced my plugs with the iridium 'honeys'; marked improvement in starting, acceleration, smoothnes, noise, and gas mileage to the value of + 3.0%. changed out the oil with mobile1 extended performance, changed transmission fluid. took a shower. time involved, 7.0 hrs. dealer be damned,,priceless!

SOURCE: Change spark plugs on 3.0 2003 Saturn Vue

This is a outstanding question!!! The plugs or wires are not visible from the top or sides of the moter. You just can't see em'!!! You have to remove the large black plastic air intake. Then remove the intake manafold(not too hard to do) to access the spark plugs and wires. Also: After removing all the black plastic air intake stuff, you'll have to remove the coil pack (long black plastic thing that says "Ecotek" on top). The coil pack is removed by disconnecting the wire connector on the driver's side end and then removing four bolts. To lift off the coil pack, you'll have to pull upwards firmly and evenly from both sides, because the spark plug boots or wires are holding onto the spark plugs as well as the coil. With the coil pack removed, look down into the silver channels - there's the plugs. To remove, you'll need a plug socket head and a socket wrench with long extension. To replace the plugs, I use an extra or old spark plug boot to hold the plug and get it started turning into the engine threads. Good Luck!

Under the intake manifold,  it will need to be removed.  Not too hard to do for the average diy but recommend buying a repair manual as a guide.  you will need a 1/4" drive T30 torx socket with a long extension one of the bolts is hidden but the others are under the black cover on the top of the intake.  you will also need to remove the coil pack held on with torx bolts.  8 or 10 inverted torx socket needed for that.

On a 2006 saturn vue is it important just to use a.c. Delco spark plugs

No. A spark plug of the correct heat range by any manufacturer is OK.
There are quite a # of quality spark plugs out there.
Some mechanics prefer/recommend certain brands.
When I have service work done on company vehicles I usually go with what my mechanic recommends.

How do you remove a stuck spark plug in a 2006 saturn vue

The damage might have been done already. If the spark plug was over-torqued when it was installed or replaced while the engine was hot, some of the threads from the cylinder head may have gotten sheared off and stuck to the spark plug. Options are kind of limited. With a cool engine, spray the spark plug with penetrating oil, put the spark plug socket on the plug and tap it (vibration helps the stuff penetrate sometimes), let it sit for half an hour and try removing it again. Try to use the shortest extension you have and try not to use a swivel. You wanna apply as much torque as you can to the plug without snapping off the porcelain insulator so use two hands, one to apply torque and the other to hold the tool straight. When you get it out, check the threads on the plug and the cylinder head carefully. If any metal had crumbled off, you don't want that stuff getting into the cylinder. If it does get in there, you'll have to get creative with a vacuum because that stuff will scar the cylinder wall. If you did shear off some threads, most auto parts places have thread repair kits but you gotta follow the instructions carefully because those tend to be a one-shot deal. If you mess up, you might be talking to a machine shop or junkyard soon after. Good luck.

I have a 2006 saturn vue 6 cylinder and a plug is stuck. How do you get it out wiyhput breaking it off in the head#?

Don't worry about it breaking up. The base is all metal, not likely to break up. What is of concern is that the spark plug threads in the cylinder head don't get messed up when removing a stuck plug.
Use some liquid wrench or penetrant around the spark plug, and let it sit for about 20 minutes. Then put socket on the plug and wrench it out. Sometimes the upper part of plug, the ceramic top, will break off, but you can still remove the base part. Buy a tube of anti-seize compound, and use it on the threads of new plugs. You will never have a stuck plug again.

I can't locate where the spark plugs are for a 2006 saturn vue,4cy.Could you tell me where they are located?

They are located in the head.To gain access you need to remove the cover on top of the engine and unplug the ignition module once these are removed the plugs are in the cylinder head and accessible with a 5/8 spark plug socket and extension. Some ecotechs have an additional plastic cover that need removed before you can access the coil cover and ignition module.

How to preform a tune-up on my 2009 Saturn Vue

It has a maintenance recomendation from the manufacturer for replacement of the spark-plugs at 100,000 miles. You don't list mileage or V6 or L4 cylinder. Make sure engine is cold because the cylinder heads are aluminum and can be damaged if plugs are removed hot or overtightened upon reassembly. Remove spark-plug wires and replace spark-plugs. Sometimes the wires break when you remove them and will require replacement. If you coat the inside of the wires where they connect with the plugs with dielectric grease it will help prevent the wires from breaking upon future disassembly.
