The turn signals on your Windstar are controlled by the front electronic module and the rear electronic module. If you are having problems with the turn signals, you should BEGIN diagnosis by scanning these modules for fault codes.
Wjth all that said, If you are having problems with the rear lights, failure of the rear electronic module is pretty common for Windstars.
We are having the same problem and looking for a solution. My husband is in the garage right this minute pulling things apart :0). Tried searching YouTube, but no luck. HELP!
Fuse panel is located behind the instrument panel to the left of the steering column. There is also a fuse panel located on the left side of the engine compartment. Fuses #25 and #27 on the interior fuse panel are both associated with the turn signals.
