My 2000 Toyota Corolla headlights will not turn on during the night, and stay on during the day

Your Corolla has daytime running lights (DRLs). A photocell determines whether it is day or night. Your DRLs turn on automatically in daytime without you operating the light control ("headlight") switch. Your DRLs are actually your headlights on low beam. At night, the photocell senses it is dark and disables the DRLs. When you set the light control ("headlight") switch to HEAD, the head relay closes and the headlights should turn on. Since they don't, I suggest opening the engine room junction block and checking the 40A MAIN fuse and the 10A LEFT HEAD (UPPER) and RIGHT HEAD (UPPER) fuses. In engine room relay block 5, check the 10A LH-LWR HEAD and RH-LWR HEAD fuses. Replace any blown fuses and the headlights should be working normally again

have you checked for voltage at the headlight plug and ground there as well if you don`t have power then it sounds like it is the headlight switch itself, usually if it is a relay one or the other will work but the relay can stop working all together,so keep this in mind,

My lights turn on but will not flip up. What should I try in order to fix this problem?

Go by the headlight and check to see if they are vacuum or power. If they are vacuum then check for vacuum leaks or the cylinder by the headlight. If they are power check for power by the headlight motor. If there is power by the headlight motor and the motor still does not work the motor is junk. If there is no power check fuses, relays and wiring. Than

Fierro RH Headlight does not flip up

It could possibly be the relay that's located on the headlight assembly. Good replacements can be found in almost any junkyard Fiero. First, check to be sure the single blue wire is connected. It's on the inboard side of the headlight, and the connection looks like an inline fuse holder. Then turn the headlights on. Using a ballpoint pen so as not to injure your fingers, insert it into one of the holes in the knob atop the motor and turn it clockwise. This should start to raise the headlight. If it doesn't activate and raise upon its own, then it's the relay. If the motor just sits and spins when you turn it on, then it's the gear inside. You can obtain a rebuild kit from www.rodneydickman.com
