Is there a fuse a a reset switch for the rear window. We just bought the
4runner and it worked for one day now the rear window won't work with the key or button. I was working near the battery but I can't figure why that would have only affected the rear window

The electric window could either be the fuse, switch, or window regulator motor at fault..Sometimes the window motor electric plug can vibrate loose or become loose from door slamming..Also the switch can become loose as well or contamination if you are lucky..You will have to remove door panel to inspect these components..and fuse panel..The light could be a faulty bulb..Check and replace bulb..before involving the signal indicator switch lever...If bulb is at fault go ahead and change bulbs at both rear sides..Do not try to repair signal switch because of air bag..If you can hold down on the turn signal switch and it works the switch is at fault...
You also have Circuit Breakers for your windows, Or your Master Switch ,You can Test the Driver Control Switch or the rear switches by removing the Switches and using the connector Plug and a Jump wire try jumping accross the wires,if they go up or down you could have a Bad Switch,if nothing moves more than likely your Window Motor is bad. BUT first CHECK your Circuit Breakers ,It could be Labeled as accessery Relay or circuit Breaker.
I doubt there is a common cause. The rear HVAC needs to be diagnosed by a HVAC technician. The electric windows problem is probably a bad motor in the door. Do the rear windows work from the driver's controls? If they do, then it is the window switch that is faulty.
so your front power windowsare not responding. But when electric windows stop
working where do you look? The window is controlled by four main parts; the window
motor, the window regulator, the part that holds the window and the control switch.
When you move the switch one way or the other, an electrical current is sent to
the window motor forcing the window to go up or down depending on the direction
of the switch. Most window control systems are powered by a thermo fuse. A thermo
fuse will cut power to the window circuit if too much electrical draw is being used.
This serves as a safety device and helps keep the wiring from overloading due to
over usage. Always wear protective safety goggles and gloves before work begins.
(Warning: some electric window regulators are equipped with
a helper spring that can have tension, use caution when disassembling) for a easy to understand photo session on this service please visit our website www.2carpros.com/how_to/power_window.htm
The K relay or headlight relay goes bad in these and control all the lights and the bulb out indicator. It should be in the fuse box or under the screwed down cover connected to the fuse box.
The starter not working is the neutral safety switch on the transmission, when it goes bad cannot be started. It is a sefty feature to allow car not to be started in anything but park or neutral.
The electric windows maybe old dirty switches, remove the center console wood and move the good switch around and see if they work.
It is the power window relay for feeding power to all the windows except the drivers. If the drivers works the other three don't it is time to replace the power window relay.
Another quick test is to see at each window if the switch works then try it at the driver master switches for each window. If you notice a difference then it is either the power window relay or the master switch.
You can post further feedback based on what you find so I can pinpoint exactly. If all windows are not working then it is the 30a power fuse
