My front passenger power window won't go down with either the driver or passenger window control buttons and both rear windows won't go up upon pressing the driver window control buttons. (They will, however, go down). But, the rear windows do go up when pressing the backseat window control buttons. How can I fix this? I have already put in a new battery without any change.

My backseat windows in my 2004 explorer don't go up or down either form the drivers master control or the individual controls on each door. The problem was intermittent while under warranty but worked when brought back to dealer. I could not just bring in the car to show them when it didn't work. I had to get an appointment and then bring it in and most times it worked. The dealer fixed driver side backseat window but the passengers side was more sporadic and the car's warranty ran out and sure enough the window now does not work all the time. The dealer said that "once the warranty runs out it's out no matter how many times and notes were made by the dealer"

I need to know if other owners have had the same problem and it's with the same 2004 explorer XLT and how to fix it.

I am having the same difficulty. My passenger side front window will not go up and I do not have a manual. Will someone please tell me a fix or which fuse it is so that I can check it without taking them all out.

Left backseat power window went down but won't go back up all the other windows work fine

Can you hear the motor turning in the door? If not, that is your problem - bad motor, loose connection......

If you hear it, the window regulator is probably broken. Google it for details. To fix it in a maxima was $75 (cost of part).

The power window in the right rear backseat is broken

Door panels usually have a combination of screws and "pop/snap fasteners" holding them in place.

Screws are usually in places such as in the arm rest or under the door handle. The fasteners are spaced around the edge of the panel -- these can be popped loose with a very wide flat-tip screwdriver or the like.

Back Power Windows on 1999 Pontiac Grand Am Will Not Roll Up

Check to see if the power window regulators are burnt out or stripped. Gravity would be able to let the window "drop" into the door, but not raise again. At this age, I suspect they're toast, and I would look there first. Good luck!
