I have the same problem with my 2004 Trailblazer LT. Driver side brake light does not illuminate. Bulbs were not bad, but changed with new anyway. Still does not illuminate. All other lights are working fine.

03 Chevy Trailblazer left rear taillight will not work. Brake light, back up light & turn signal all work. Right rear all work. Replaced bulbs, switched sides, still nothing.

There was a recall on this, see your local Chevrolet dealer.... Recall Date: NOV 01, 2004 Model Affected: 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer Summary: ON CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, VIBRATION AND HEAT MAY CAUSE THE TAIL LAMP/STOP LAMP BULB TO LOOSEN IN ITS SOCKET. IF THIS OCCURS, THE BULB MAY FLICKER AND EVENTUALLY BECOME INOPERATIVE. Consequences: AN INOPERATIVE BRAKE LAMP WILL NOT CONVEY THE DRIVER'S INTENTION OF STOPPING TO DRIVERS IN FOLLOWING VEHICLES, AND AN INOPERATIVE REAR TURN SIGNAL LAMP WILL NOT CONVEY THE DRIVER'S INTENTION TO TURN TO DRIVERS IN FOLLOWING VEHICLES. BOTH OF THESE FAILURES CAN INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH. Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE TAIL LAMP/STOP LAMP ASSEMBLIES, AND IF NECESSARY, REPLACE THEM. THE RECALL BEGAN ON NOVEMBER 22, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT CHEVROLET AT 1-800-630-2438, OLDSMOBILE AT 1-800-630-6537, BUICK AT 1-866-608-8080, OR GMC AT 1-866-996-9463. Potential Units Affected: 871473 Notes: GENERAL MOTORS CORP. There were problems with the circuit board assemblies on the earlier years of the Envoy. Also check the socket for the brake light, make sure the contacts are OK.

Driver side brake light doesnt work but other brake light does changed bulbs still does not work

Make sure the fuses are good. There is a fuse for left and right brake lights. The fuse blocks are under the hood and there`s also one under the drivers side rear seat.If the fuses are good then remove the rear lamp assembly and check the bulb.I believe there are 2 screws and then just pull lamp assembly out.Hope this helps.Good luck.

The high mount brake light has its own fuse, so check that first. The high mount bulb is generally a stabdard type (there may be more than one bulb) or you can replace with an LED. As for the left rear bulbs not working when depressing brake pedal, check the bulbs again for any spring that may be broken. If the bulbs are still good, make sure there is sufficient contact with the socket. If still not working, have someone check it out further.

No brake lights

Took my Trailblazer to dealership. They replaced both rear tail light socket boards (these are plastic parts that house all of the rear lamps/bulbs and attach to tail light housing) They advised the sockets in the boards have a tendency to go bad. Everything works just fine. Cost of each part was approximately $29.00. Easy to replace yourself and save the labor.

Change brake light '04 Trailblazer

Hi this is a common problem in the trailblazer line the light brakes stop working on mine but it was really not the bulbs it was the socket I got a recall from Chevrolet to replace all the back lights with a new set but this did not fix the problem what happen is that the socket is not making a good connection with the bulb wires take one bulb out and you will see how the wires are black you can tell they got hot because they are not making a good connection and brake light stop working and to take then out open the rear gate and you will see the 2 screws for the tail light assembly once you get the assembly out you will see a 2 plastic connectors remove then and another 3 screws holding the light bulbs take those 3 screws out and then you can get to the light bulbs what I did to fix this problem I bend the wires in the bulb just a bit to make a better connection and avoid then to get hot once you get a bulb out of the socket you will be able to know better what I am talking about
