I padded it dry but i suppose there was still come water on the air filter. I drove it my drive way today and then shut it down after I saw the problems, do u think that might cause the lights to go off on the das and cos the engine to stutter. Also what do u think the fix to the problem is or what am I looking at in terms of cost and repair.

My 2000 nissan frontier stutters and shimmies and my service engine soon light blinks. My manual says its an engine misfire. Can anyone elaborate on this please?

To the Maxima with the air filter issue. Putting the filter back on before its dry can cause oil to get all over the mass air flow sensor. I did the same thing apparently.

To the Frontier- Thats what I drive and I'm having the same exact problem. My mechanic buddy said its the coil pack for the first cyclinder. I guess those can go bad. Don't try an aftermarket fix on this one. They are $70 from Nissan. I also have a catalytic converter code and may need a new one. I just replaced the IPDM module 15k ago. Not too happy with my Frontier now. Its a 2005 with high (highway) miles. Going to get rid of it asap. Good luck.

Removed the positve and negative charge of battery for 10 minutes then, plug it back the positive first then negative charge and the last step you do is to start the engine. This steps is to clear tcs off, slip and awd lights.

If the air filter was wet then there is water in your engine i wouldnt think that this would cause much damage depends how much water was on the air filter

Hi, usually one of 2 sensors cause that. The camshaft sensor and crankshaft sensor. Usually the latter. Does it have the no-start condition more when the motor is hot or has been running? Or is it just anytime cold or hot?
Crankshaft sensor is notorious for hot non starts and wont always leave a code. Reply with more info if you like. Does engine also run rough or lack power? Mike

Your crankshaft sensor doesn't always make the light blink. I'm almost positive it your crankshaft sensor.
