Question about 2005 Peugeot 405
Haven't had this problem in my 206, the only reason I can think of the motor stopping after you brake is because you haven't changed gear aswell? For example, stopping from 30 at traffic lights and not depressing the clutch will eventually stall the engine.

Let diagnose your car through OBD port and read any fault codes that the ecu has recorded. In my opinion its the throttleling problem(as ecu regulates it in case of idle and if any sensor is not responding properly it fails to react on time). I can't say any more untill you read the fault codes.
