i have a 96 intrepid and i have the exact same problem.

the other day i started my car and the power windows wouldn't work, or the ac. then i noticed the abs and airbag lights were on. i unpluged the positive battery cable for a while. i was told the computer needed to "reboot". i plugged it back in, and it worked. well, this morning, my car wouldn't start. i jiggled the positive battery cable, and it started. the windows and the ac just work when they want to. it's getting frustrating.

i don't know if my problem is an old battery cable (the cable is old, and worn) or a shoddy computer. i haven't heard good things about dodges and their computers.

i'm taking it to autozone and having it diagnosed tonight.

I recently purchased a 1997 intrepid at a great price because it had this same problem.
The problem is in the ignition switch. If you turn your fan on high and push on the key with the palm of your hand, you will hear the
Fans start running, ABS and Airbag light will turn off. At some point, the problem will return but is corrected again with the push of
The key. Annoying, YES but not worth spending any money on.
The auto dealer repair shop freeked out when I told them of the problem, they did not beleive me
until I stoped in one day and showed them the
Temporary fix

What is the color of the Common wire for Power windows, Heater, Radio, Airbag light and ABS light? On a 1996 Dodge Intrepid

Each component is on a different circuit.
The hot wire for the blower is dark green coming from a fuseable link, and the hot for the power windows is dark green and red coming from a circuit breaker. The radio is another circuit and the warning lights are on the gauges circuit.

Power windows turn signal and ac/heat wont work

Had the identical same problems on our Chrysler Concorde. We checked all fuses and relays nothing. Then we checked the wiring on the ignition switch mounted under the steering column it was loose. Repositioned it and everything worked perfectly again. Did not cost a thing. Hope this helps!

1995 Intrepid, 140,000miles, 3.3L engine, auto, A/C, ABS. When the outside temp gets hot some of the electrical system will not work. Power windows, A/C, interior fan. The Airbag and ABS idiot lights come...

The age of your vehicle might suggest that wires in your interior fuse box have either come loose, corroded or shorted out.  The high current once like A/C and interior fan may have caused the wires at the back of the fuse box to become embrittled due to heat.  I once had a problem with my starter circuit where the wire became so hard it couldn't be bent.  I replaced the section of wire to the fuse box and all the starting issues went away.
The only explanation for the Airbag and ABS, is that they too go to the fuse box.  I suggest checking wires behind the fuse box for the affected circuits (if you can remove it enough to see and feel behind it).  Using the VOM you can check for power at your fuses and focus on the ones without power.  Then check those wires first (remember most circuits don't energize until the key is turn on).

ABS light comes on 97 Jimmy

The Airbag and ABS are separate systems and un-related, the speedo is related to the ABS light, I think if you run a self test on the system computer there will be a trouble code for the transmission speed sensor, the output of this sensor is used by the ABS and the speedometer. The airbag is most likely a defective rotating contact under the steering wheel, we techs call it a clock-spring contact because of it's shape, it allows the connection from the steering column to the airbag. CAUTION! If you want to change out this contact the steering wheel needs to be pulled, follow factory recommendations on dis-arming the airbag, it can be very dangerous if you don't.
