Question about 1995 Toyota Camry

My brother in law has a 1989 toyota camry and he said that it will not start. There is no fire at the spark plugs. He has changed everything out that he knows of that could be the problem. What could be the problem?

Check the main fuses under the hood. My 95 is doing the same thing and there is a 30amp fuse under the hood that stops the distributor from getting power. The fuse blows whenever I turn the key to the acc. position, so I have to find where the short is and then repair.
Hope this helps.
Good luck

1989 camry turns over but won't crank also no spark at spark plugs

What about the magnetic pick up. This is the crank angle sensor reporting to the ECM and creating spark. This is known as the G and NE sensor. Just for giggles with the distbutor on cap off crank the engine and see if the rotor change postion with the engine crank. if it does the timing belt is good if it doesnt you will need a timing belt.

Car will turn over but it won't catch fire , changed the ignition module and new ignition coil.

Check your spark plugs for a spark. If you are getting spark, check your fuel pressure. It takes spark, compression, and fuel to run an engine.

Turns over but will not start. Not driven for over year.

Even with a new distributor cap you need to check for spark. Is there spark to the plugs? If you are getting fire, compression and fuel at the correct time - you should be starting. Did it stop running suddenly? Have you eliminated the timing belt? Does it turn over normally or faster than usual? Does it sound like it wants to start - if so it could be a restricted fuel supply.

Change spark plugs on 2007 Toyota Camry

In servicing the spark plug . If the owner will be the one to change the spark plug then. the owner should locate the spark plugs . then prepare the equipments that is going to be used to change spark plug .First disconnect the spark plug cable to the spark pug . Then use the equipment to take the spark plug off to the engine. The spark plug should be twisted counter clock wise using the equipment to remove the spark plug. Then replace the spark plug.In returning the spark plug ,using the equipment you have to twist the spark plug clock wise . Then set the distributor shaft turn it according to the proper firing order that will be set to the spark plug if it is 1,3,4,2. Then the distributor shaft mark will be on 1.If 2,3,4,1 then the distributor shaft mark will be on 2. Then connect the spark plug cable , after connecting the owner have to test start the car so that to if it back fires .If it back fires then the owner have to repeat again the setting of the firing order of the spark plug until it will not back fires. If the owner don't have time to do the job in servicing or changing spark plug then the owner have to go to a car mechanic and let them change the spark plug.
