Question about 1997 Lincoln Continental
I have a 1997 lincoln continental, everytime i go to start it...it wants to start but wont...it sounds like its flooding...the engine turns over just wont start....it has gas in the tank too.
Our 97 Continental wouldn't start. Our Chrysler trained independent mechanic thought it was a theft recognition problem.
The tech at our lincoln dealership identified it as a defective mass airflow sensor but wanted an arm and a leg to fix.
She disconnected the sensor which allowed the car to start and run (a bit rough) and was able to get it back to our mechanic without needing another tow.
Got the sensor for a fraction of the cost of the dealership estimate, and possibly could have done it myself with a bit of effort.

The fuel pump relay is overheating. I switched mine with the horn relay and have never had a reoccurence.
