You should be able to jump start it. Before connecting cables make sure the ignition is off on both vehicles also do not let the black and red jumper cable clamps touch . When connecting cables connect the red cable to the good batterys positive terminal first. Next connect the other end of the red cable to the positive post of the dead battery. Third connect the black cable to the good batteries negative terminal. Last connect the other end of the black cable to a good ground on the dead car, this can be a nut or bolt or part of the frame. Start the engine of the good car, rev the engine slightly then try to start the good car. Remove the cables in reverse order from installing them.

I would start by making sure the battery is good and nithing was left on and drained the battery,check and see if the headlight come on and are bright, if the lights are dim or dont turn on then the battery is low, also check the connections at the battery, make sure they are clean and tight. you can try to jump start it if battery is low. if the battery is good then you may have a bad starter or a problem with the antitheft system,again start with the battery, make sure inside ;ight are working and check the headlights. good day.

First check battery. If battery is good, you alternator needs to be replaced.

If you have to jump it or charge it in order to get it started every time, I think maybe the battery is no good. Take the battery to a good auto parts store and they will test the battery free of charge. Your gages can show good battery voltage and still not have enoughcranking amps to start the engine.

Make SURE battery and alternator are good because battery starts the car but car runs on alternator power once its started. If alternator is not putting out the power needed, car will die once the battery power is dead or removed.

If you can jump and start the car then the starter is good.

I had a similar situation where the battery tester showed 13V and green/good LED but I could not start my car. After many tests, I found out that the battery had good Voltage (13V) but not enough Amperage to crank the starter.
I replaced the battery and the car started like a champ!.

- clue to see if you need to replace the battery is if you have used it for
about 3 years or more.
- Dead battery happens a lot more often than bad alternator.

check that your battery is charged up. if it wont start off jumper cables you may have a bad cell in your battery. tap the starter selenoid too to see if it is bound up

First of all - check the battery and battery connections. Corroded connections don't transmit power as well as good clean ones.

Second - after cleaning, check voltage (careful) and charge batttery if necessary.

Third, see if engine will start with a jump start - if won't start after cleaning and charging, but will start on a jump, you've got a bad battery or starter motor - take it to a shop and have them diagnose it further.
