Hello! when you say you checked the MAP sensor what do you mean? Did you take voltage readings at idle ? A vacuum leak is the likely culprit, especially to the MAP...The minor shake at idle being the major clue...Send a comment...guru..saailer
Code P0741 = Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Performance or Stuck Off. This relates to your transmission only and has nothing to do with Exhaust emmissions.
If failed smog test, there must be an issue within your emmission system, e.g. sensors etc
You will need to have your codes read again, or have your vehicle properly inspected.
TAKE THE CAR TO A SMOG SHOP THEY CAN AT LEAST TELL YOU WHAT IS GOING ON [ MAKE SURE THEY DO REPAIRS ] SOME SMOG SHOPS ONLY DO SMOG CERTIFICATION, NO ACTUAL REPAIRS
either modulator valve on transmission or intermediate and high gear band is worn out or vavle body is dirty.this should not affect smog test results..chris
