Check your ignition fuse. You may have to reset the fuel pump switch if equipped. Have you checked the battery? If it is good, you may have a bad starter.

have a load test done on the battery as it may be dead flat or have a failed cell. Check the alternator output and check the condition and tension of the drive belt
I HAD SIMILAR PROBLEM MY 2005 PT SUDDENLY JUST SEEMED TO CHOKE DOWN AND PUSHING ON GAS PEDAL MADE IT WORSE SO I LET UP ON PEDAL AND THEN SLOWLYMPH ACCELERATER BUT I WOULD ONLY GO ABOUT 50 MPH AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON I CHECKED OIL IT WAS FINE I THEN PUT A CAN OF SEA FOAM IN GAS TANK AND DROVE SLOWLY A WAYS THEN SPEEDED UP IT RAN FINE SEEMED TO BE DIRTY INJECTORS OR FUEL PUMP. I WNT ON HOME THE ENGINE LIGHT STAYED ON THE NEXT MORNING THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS OFF AND IT HAS RUN FINE EVER SINCE
Are you still with the car? If so stop texting and call a friend to come with some gasoline ( 3-5 gal. should be plenty). Put that in the tank and then turn the key on and wait for about 10 sec. then turn key off. Repeat this two mor times. Then try to start the car normaly and drive to the gas station and fill the car up. Oh and stop running out od gas!
I have a 2005 pt cruiser and i ran out of gas and got towed to get gas and after filling up i went to turn the car on and it wont start. It makes no noise and wont even turn over. The battery is brand new and all the lights and everything turn on. A red light blinks..not sure what that means or if that always blinks.. does anyone know the problem or how to fix it?
If you have a look at lines coming from fuel tank & follow them forward along the frame rails etc, and don't see one, my references tell me it is part of the pump located in the tank.
