SOURCE: thunking from front wheel area while driving

Have you tried roating the wheels and putting the front wheels to the rear?It could also be a main wheel bearing that holds the CV joint shaft(outer)This bearing, common fault, will need to be pressed out as its pressed into the hub and cannot be removed by normal means. In some cases this part can no longer be obtained so a salvage yard would be the only option and must be brought as a complete unit.Wheel hub assembly.

You must replace wheel bearings in pairs to avoid loading the old bearing and, in time ruining your new bearing hub it is possible that you have already damaged the new hub

"only 99,000" on the tires? They must be great tires...I'm lucky if I get 60K out of mine!!! I have seen that happen anywhere from 1,000 miles and up...doesn't seem to be mile related.

Check the brakes, maybe the bearings in the hub, or your CV axle.
