We have a 98 wagon and when we put the seat down to load something in the back, the seat belt is now stuck and will not extend out. Any way to get it unjammed?

On my 96 I was able to lift the bottom of the seat enough to remove the lower seatbelt mount bolt, once the seat is up it will pull out. Sew a button where the original plastic disc was which prevents the seatbelt from retracting to far. Re-install bottom mount bolt.

Mine is a 96 wagon. I was able to lift the seat bottom enough to remove the bottom seatbelt mount bolt which is a larger female torx ( 6 pointed star) style bolt. once removed it will work. I had to sew a button where the original plastic disc was on the shoulder strap to prevent it from retracting to far and locking again. I could see the old marks for placement , if you look at the other seatbelt this disc will make sense if your unsure what I`m referring to. Obviously remount the bottom and there shouldn`t be any more problems.

If it is a 850 sedan like mine then you'll have to remove the speaker covers and then pull up the rear deck cover, then you can get to the mechanism.

How do i take apart my seatbelt assembly? passenger side belt is stuck in

since it's a safety item it's highly recommend against any type of service.. if you can get the assembly out from behind the trim panel or under the back seat if it's the rear...remove the side that has the belt wound up and the gear showing. More then likely the pin and weight have gotten caught in place and the belt tightened up without any slack to let the pin release. this pin falls into place when the brakes are applied and inertia set the pin in place to stop the seat belt from unwinding. wind the belt in the tightening direction, pull pin out of gear mechanism and reinstall....best bet would be buy new

1994 olds 98 rear seat belt (behind driver seat) is stuck

If brute force doesn't unstick it remove the back seat and pull the cover off of the reel. The problem should be apparent. You can turn the reel with a large screwdriver if need be.
If the belt is damaged find another one at your local recycler, the side reel is behind a plastic panel that is easily removed, the assemblies are held in by big bolts.

Passenger side seat belt won't pull out

It could have twisted on recoil and is now stuck. You'd have to remove the interior panel to view that.

On the really bad side, the seat belt pretensioner could have failed or fired and locked the belt in place. If that's the case, I'd have a mechanic replace it since you can trigger an air bag deployment replacing it yourself.

1999 Dodge 2500 passenger side seat belt wont release

so after completely tearing the seat apart I found 2 wires going up to the seat belt mechanism from under the seat, these wires got caught in the seat mechanism underneath and were shredded. There must be a small solenoid inside the seat belt mechanism because I could hear it click after I repaired the wires(this circuit is live even with the ignition off) Im not sure how it all works but this solved my problem.
