Car trouble! I had my tire slashed and then had my tire replaced. Once the tire was replaced with another tire, everytime i turned either left or right if felt like the car wanted to stall or just stop running. Is the AWD the problem? How do i fix this problem?

Hello -

Check to ensure that all your tires have the same size numbers on them, and have the same pressure in them, following manufacturer's recommendation, or the max spec on the tire sidewall, whichever you choose.

The problem having begun with the slashed tire may be coincidental, but AWD doesn't like it when there are different sized tires on the vehicle. It causes the gears to fight themselves, and can cause irregular tire wear, and eventual drive line failure.

I have a 1996 Mazda 626 and have been told I need to replace the tie rods or I will have to replace my tires about every 6 months. When I went on line to try and order the tie rods there were several...

Jack the front of the car up high enough to get under it, put jack stands under the car for safety.

Start on either side and check the tie rod ends for looseness. If you have someone to help, have them hold one tire with hands at 3 and 9 o'clock while you grab the other tire the same way. Try to move the tire by pushing and pulling. If you feel movement, have your helper sit in the car and move the steering wheel 1/4 to 1/2 turn left and righ as you check the tie rods for which one or ones are loose.

Once you have found out which to replace, after they are replaced, you will need to have the car aligned.

Replacing tires every six months is not the worst--Sooner or later a sloppy tie rod let's go. They don't always go out all at once, but sooner or later they all need replaced.

Everytime i press my brake the car turn left even when im not turning the car to the left.and some times when im running slow the car weegle a little bit

Your brake pads/rotors are unevenly worn or one of your front calipers are not releasing fully. The wiggle can be caused by warped rotors, or because of an unbalanced tire, bent rim, or worn/damaged suspension parts or you may need an alignment. Take the car to have a thorough braking and suspension system inspection.

The rims of the tires continue to bend and slash the tires. All four. This car has been a death trap. Any ideas of what the problem is. Has there been a recall?

Wow, this is an unusual problem. What year? Factory wheels or aftermarket? Tire size? Are the tires losing air pressure so that the rims are 'slashing the tires?' Are the rims cutting through the side walls of the tires? How many or the tires did this happen to and how many times??
