Question about 2008 Nissan 2WD Titan

1 Answer

2008 Titan air coditioner

After a few minutes, my air conditioner ( manual controls) mysteriously switches to "recirculating mode" on its own. Dealer says this happens to all of their trucks, too, but I'm the first to bring it to their attention.
Since I smoke, this means I can't get the smoke to go out an open window. What could be the problem?
Thanks in advance

How to replace an air inlet actuator on 2007 Pontiac Vibe 1.8 Liter Engine

Recirculation Control The recirculation control determines the air intake through the recirculation actuator. When the recirculation switch is pressed, a signal is sent from the switch to the recirculation actuator through the recirculation signal circuit. When the actuator receives the signal, the actuator moves into the recirculation mode. This circulates air from inside the vehicle instead of fresh air from the outside. Recirculation is available in any mode and can be selected with the blower motor in either the ON or OFF position.
Air Inlet Valve Actuator Replacement
Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the Instrument Panel (IP) compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement .
remove the glove box
Remove the connector (2). Remove the two screws (1) and the air inlet actuator (3) from the HVAC module.

When manual climate control of my 2008 Elantra is switched to defrost mode the A/C goes on. .Why is this happening?

Your air conditioner comes on to dry the air in defrost mode. It clears the window and removes the moisture (humidity) that is causing the windows to fog up in the first place.

Fault finding

HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING
HONDA CIVIC 2001 - 2005

How to retrieve DTC:

The heater control panel has self-diagnosis function. To run the self-diagnosis function, do the following:
    1.Turn the blower fan OFF.
2.Press and hold the recirculation control switch and the rear window defogger switch down.
3.Turn the ignition switch ON (ll).
4.Release both switches. The recirculation indicator and the rear window defogger indicators come on. The recirculation indicator goes off 3 seconds later and the A/C indicator comes on, then the self-diagnosis will begin. About 10 seconds later, the self-diagnosis will finish and the A/C indicator goes off.

If any trouble is found, the recirculation indicator blinks the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) to indicate a faulty circuit or component.
If the system is ok, the recirculation indicator stays off.

A/c recirculating light comes on when i first start up the 2004 gmc yukon xl will not go off until recirculating switch is pushed. Sometimes comes right back on and u have to reset it again

{: ) Just let it be as this behavior is part of normal operation. Observe for a while. Check again your mode settings, should not be in defrost or defog mode when recirc is requested. The recirc function is available only in face or bi-level mode.
If the recirculation switch is pressed into the ON position when the mode switch is in an unavailable mode position, then the recirculation switch LED will flash 3 times. If the HVAC control module detects a fault with the recirc door the HVAC control module will try to drive the actuator for a predetermined amount of time, to outside air, which is the defaulted position for the recirculation actuator.
Try settling on the face and bi-level mode. You can manually turn on or off the recirc function and observe some air change on the vents. When recirc is off (light off) outside air will also enter and it will mix with the cold air inside if your a/c is on.
The HVAC system also monitors the inside and outside temperature sensors and uses these inputs to control the opening or closing of the recirculation door. If the outside temp is colder, it may not allow recirc off, sometimes it may not even allow a/c function. You may also have a sticking door or failing actuator. If any of the approaches above doesn't come out well, you may proceed for a scan tool diagnostic test to be sure, if your HVAC system does have a trouble.

Ice formed on outside of line!

try running the air conditioner in defrost mode. set the temperature to warmest while air conditioner is on, for about two minutes. then slowly move the lever towards cold, all the while having the vent set on outside air. once you move it toward cooler, move the vent switch towards recirculate from outside air.

when you have it on defrost, open the engine hood and push the air conditioner button. watch the lines and see if they begin to build frost. if not, move the slider toward cold a little bit at a time while watching the lines to see if they begin to build frost. if they do start to build frost at any point after running the defroster in A/C mode for a bit, you can always try positioning the temperature control towards the middle or run only the outside instead of recirculating vent.

When i press the ac button it blinks three times but does not turn on. 2007 Tahoe LT

If your vehicle is equipped with automatic climate control, this should help.

Recirculation Operation
The HVAC control module controls the air intake through the recirculation actuator. The recirculation switch closes the recirculation door in order to circulate the air within the vehicle. The outside air switch opens the recirculation door in order to route outside air into the vehicle. Regardless of the blower motor switch position, recirculation is available only in the panel and bi-level mode switch positions. Including the OFF position. The mode switch must be placed in either the panel or bi-level position before the blower motor switch is placed in the OFF position. In order to reduce windshield fogging, outside air is circulated when the mode switch is in the defrost or defog positions. If the recirculation switch is pressed into the ON position when the mode switch is in an unavailable mode position, then the recirculation switch LED will flash 3 times. If the HVAC control module detects a fault with the recirc door the HVAC control module will try to drive the actuator for a predetermined amount of time, to outside air, which is the defaulted position for the recirculation actuator

2007 F-150 Supercrew Lariat Cabin Air Filter

According to the shop manual you do not have one.
Air Distribution and Filtering adobe.gif Printable View (79 KB) NOTE: The air distribution system of this vehicle cannot be equipped with a cabin air filter.
There are 2 sources of air available to the air distribution system:
  • Outside air
  • Recirculated air
Recirculated air is automatically used when the electronic manual temperature control mode selector is set in the MAX A/C or OFF modes and can be selected in any mode other than MAX A/C, OFF or DEFROST by selecting the RECIRC button. Recirculated air is available in all modes except DEFROST. If the vehicle is equipped with an electronic automatic temperature control (EATC) system, recirculated air is used in OFF and is available in all modes except DEFROST. RECIRC mode is a timed function in FLOOR and FLOOR/DEFROST.
Air distribution within the vehicle is determined by the electronic manual temperature control (EMTC) function selector switch position, or is controlled by the EATC system in the AUTOMATIC mode. The air distribution mode on EATC vehicles may be overridden by the driver if desired. Air distribution doors are used to direct airflow within the heater core and evaporator core housing and the plenum chamber. An electronic mode door actuator is used to position these air distribution doors. One air inlet mode door is used to switch between FRESH or RECIRC air inlet. An electric actuator is used to position the air inlet mode door.
Air enters the passenger compartment from the:
  • instrument panel A/C registers.
  • heater outlet floor ducts.
  • windshield defroster duct.
  • side window demisters.
  • center flow-through console (if equipped).
Passenger compartment air is exhausted from the vehicle through open windows or body air vents.
