Same problem. 2001 GC. Happens randomly. Sometimes it just takes cleaning the terminals, but sometimes not. It seems there's a short somewhere in the system. Keep blowing taillights.

my 2002 will not start then start. it seems there is a computer problem that preventing the car from starting. I wish they eliminate the start problem. I liek the good old fasgion if cant strat you jump wire the bugger. this PCM is preventing the car from starting and if you wait for 10 minuites then it will start.

When I turn the key, nothing happens. All dash lights come on. Radio, locks, etc all work. 10 minutes later. It will start fine. This happens when its cold, warm or hot. Mechanic had it for two days and couldn't find anything. Took it to the dealer and they replaced a relay in the passenger door that they said was draining the battery ($750). The next day, same problem. Please HELP

The rear gate is the rear door at the back of the vehicle..Open and shut it to make sure it is latched...Then wear safety glasses disconnect negative battery cable to clear codes ..reconnect then try to start it..You shouldn't have the code once gate is shut however disconnecting the battery will erase all codes...Also make sure both battery cables are tight....

My Tahoe locked up, shut down, no lights, no brakes, no steering, no dash lights. I disconnected battery and reconnected battery, there was a ticking sound coming from the engine. No dash lights still...

Sounds like you may have a dead battery or alternator. Disconnect your battery and take it to your local auto parts store and they will test it for you. You can do the same thing with the alternator. But call ahead to find a store that is capable of checking these parts for you. A check you could do yourself is jump start your battery off another car or charge it on a charger. If it turns over and starts, let it run. If it dies and the same thing happens with the ticking. Chances are you have a bad alternator that's not charging the battery. So the vehicle ran off of the battery til the battery ran out of juice. If it keeps running but won't start back up when you shut it off, chances are good your battery is bad and the vehicle is running off your alternator.

95 jeep grand cherkee clicking noise passenger side under dash radio won't come on while car is running or key in start position but will in acessory position also interior lites blink while car i

try this.. disconnect the vehicle battery entirely, connect a 10 amp battery charger to the car connectors matching the terminal leads..and power the car with the charger..you should hear a hum or buzz in whichever relay or circuit breaker is bad.. replace this relay and the lights and stuff should work..the charger will not direct-short but the guage may go full over indicating a malfunction..or extreme load.. maybe a window switch might be fried..you should be able to hear any issues as long as power is coming from the charger only...repost findings..

does the unit crank after it fails? I would check all of my battery connections you may have a loose ground either at the battery or at the engine. You may also have a bad starter relay located un the fuse panel under the hood

2000 gmc jimmy starts in AM fine won't start after sitting in sun all day

Can you jumper the fuel pump and make it start and continue to run ?
Have you checked to see if you are getting spark when it won't start ?
Could be a relay or coil, ignition module, or other component.

I Have a 94 cherokee country with a 56028297 ecu,it has no power at the grey wire at the ecu,it does flash sometimes and I can hear the relay work sometimes. I can bypass the fuel pump relay circuit and...

If you hear relays clicking sometimes and the jeep won't start, at those times, is the check engine light illuminated on the dash, or not? If no check engine light is on the dash, at times when the jeep won't start, your ecu is in need of repairs. The ecu sends power to the ignition and fuel relays and when the ecu starts to malfunction, the relays usually start clicking.

No start condition new battery , good starter, turn key to start position light come on dash, go forward to start light go out and you hear click under dash area like relay, no power getting to starter....

no starter relay is always at the fuse relay box at the engine compartment. The relay that you hear is the relay for the accessories to turn off the power during starting position.
