If the fan does not work , first check fuse then possibly the switch could go bad they can overheat with time and might even need a new connector to the switch. Are you sure it has freon, pres sw. will prevent comp cl. from starting. turn key on with AC on fan too and try a screwdriver on the clutch to feel for a magnetic pull, if the gap is too big it won;t pull in..any more needed?

Hi my 2009 mondeo 20ltr titanium fan will not turn of. Start car without ac on fan comes on at full speed for a few seconds then goes of I turn ac on that comes on so does fan back to full speed not slow...

The fan is connected to the ac circuit to move air through the condensor in front of the radiator when the ac is turned on . This is to stop high head pressures in the ac and prevent damage to the compressor. There may be a problem with a coolant sensor that is turning the fan on otherwise so run fault codes and see if anything comes up

I HAVE A 96 DEVILLE. MY PROBLEM IS THAT MY FAN WILL ONLY TURN ON IF MY AC IS ON..WHEN NOT ON, MY CAR OVER HEATS...ALSO,THE AC ONLY COMES ON WHEN MY CAR IS TURNED ON AND IDDLING...

Temperature sendin unit needs replaced it sends a signal to the dash for temp and also to the fan switch. The ac is turning on the fan because, when ac is on the car would run warmer, so the ac switch is also connected to the fan. Are you saying that the ac kicks on when iddling or that's the only time you can turn it on

WELL TURN ON AC MAX COLD HIGH TO SEE IF COOLANT FANS TURN ON.IF NOT YOUR REFRIGERANT SO LOW THAT THE AC REFRIGERANT PRESSURE SENSOR WONT CLOSE CIRCUIT TO TURN ON COOLING FANS.MEANING YOU NEED HAVE AC CHECKED AND CHARGED.ALSO CHECK COMPRESSOR FOR POWER IF NOT YOU HAVE BLOWED FUSE OR BAD RELAY.IF FUSE AND RELAY GOOD YOUR AC COMPRESSOR CLUTCH COIL OPEN OR THE AC CONTROL SWITCH IS BAD.IF COMPRESSOR IS RUNNING WHEN YOU TURN ON AC YOUR AIR TEMPERATURE ACTUATOR NOT WORKING.

Serpentine belt slides over AC pulley when AC is off

The ac pump has a clutch coil,it is activated with the ac button, and then the middle of the pulley will turn this is the clutch,it only turns with the ac on,then when it is turned off,the pulley just turns not the whole clutch,so this is normal.

When i turn on ac it works on max ac not on ac

You have a blend door actuator motor that is not working, they are hard to get to,the dash has to be removed, and pulled back toward the seats to access the actuator motor.

Something is not telling the computer to step up idle and is probably an ac pressure sensor. A scan tool will give you that info.
