It is on the front side, closest to radiator, at the very end of the transmission by the cover. Itgoes in horizontally, where as the transmission range finder goes down vertically. Hope this helps you.

On the Durango, the sensor is located underneath the transmission right behind the transmission oil pan.

Where is the speed censor located in a 2004 dodge intrepid

It is located on the left side of the transmission about half way up the body toward the output end. Has a wire clip attatched and looks similar to a coolant sensor. (about 3/4 inch diameter and a couple inches tall)

Po731 and po700 the car don't change speed

replace the output speed sensor on you 4 speed trans, 3.3 engines only have 4 speed transmissions. The output sensor is located next to the transfer gear. Or if you are looking the two sensors, it would be the one on the right.

P700 = PCM has a transmission code in the EATX controller, and P0731= Gear ratio error in 1st. Replace the output speed sensor and clear the codes.

Both the input sensor and output sensors are located on the left side of the trans axle case below the shift lever and above the stub shaft. Both should unscrew from the trans axle case. These sensors are not interchangeable. If they are removed be sure to replace the o rings on its outside diameter.

P0720 error code on 1998 dodge intrepid

First buy the input and output speed sensors so you will know what you are looking for. They are located on the left side of the tranny with very similar connections. They just screw in with a socket and ratchet. Change them one at a time because they are different and you don't want to get them mixed up by pulling both before installing one.

Location of speed sensor a for 99 dodge intrepid

The "Vehicle Speed Sensor" signal is generated by the transmisson output speed sensor. That is the one located at the rear of the case. It is externally mounted. That supplies "vehicle speed" info to the other On-Board Computers. The input turbine speed sensor is located just behind the bell housing area of the case. I believe the trans controller is the only module that needs that info. The Crank Position Sensor give engine RPM info and it is located on the bell housing near the engine block. I hope this helps.
