Entire exhaust system fell off of my 2007 tauras. Have other people reported this defect? The Midas dealer said he had seen several of these. The Ford Dealer says $1100 to repair. I think this is a manufacturers defest. What do you think?

Stop my van getting fumes inside the car

Do you have an exhaust leak? That is usually the way fumes start getting into the car. Take it to someplace like Midas. They will do a free inspection of your exhaust system. If they do find a leak, and I suspect that they will, take it around to someone you trust, or get different estimates, as Midas is very expensive.

F150, 2007, shimmy between 45 and 55 mph - dealer has worked on it several times but hasn't solved the problem

Hello, I have seen many reports of Vibrations in the F150. One of the major overlooked causes is the rear E-brake system and the rear Calipers bumping out-of-round Rotors. Have the Dealer inspect the E brakes and make sure the cables allow for slack. The rear Calipers also need to retract far enough from the rotors as not to bump the rotor when the brakes are freewheeling.

I remember reading about Ford trying some composite driveshafts which tended to "Whip" at certain RPMs. People were going to Salvage yards to buy the older steel driveshafts which would not do that. You do have to watch for Spline size and driveshaft length because of Supercabs, Supercrews, short, medium amd long beds. But if you have a Dealer trying to fix this, at least he could try balancing the driveshaft.

Checkout the Website I did a search for F150 driveshaft whipping and found a long list of problems like yours. I hope you consuder my solution very helpful and would like an update if the problem was solved.

I have a 2007 PT Cruiser. I replaced a dead battery in July. Same problem in Sept. Again same problem in last week in Nov. Local Midas has been wonderful, replacing 2 batteries for free thanks to...

You need to have the charging system checked. It may be overcharging the battery which would destroy any battery. I would suspect the voltage regulator is defective.

Changed the exhaust on 2007 3/4 ton suburban. Now the emmission control is lit. Any way of resetting this?

Go to a chain store auto parts place or Midas muffler and get them to read the code. They do this for free assuming that you will buy parts there or let them fix it. Anyway, you O2 sensors are in the exhaust pipe, maybe there was a wire left off or a sensor was damaged when they changed from one to the other. If the diameter of the new exhause is too small and restricts the exhaust, it can affect the emissions and the performance. If nothing is really wrong, the computer will reseset itself after about 50 key starts, but there probably something wrong that caused the light to come on in the first place. O2 sensor system make the most sense.

F250 Lariat Diesel turbo no function sometimes and exhaust smoke white

you didnt specify if this is a 6L or 6.4L since its an 07 it could be either. If 6.0L, White smoke typically indicates a blown egr cooler and this usually damages the egr valve which may cause it to fail open allowing the coolant to enter the combustion chambers and be burnt and cause white smoke, If its a 6.4L I have seen the highside turbo bearings fail causing poor performance and seal failure resulting in oil getting into exhaust, high exhaust temps make it burn and it may appear as a whitish colored smoke depending on severity. Hopefully for you its a 6.0L becuase the 6.4L turbo r&r is a repair where we remove the entire cab from the truck. However your not much better off with 6.0L since egr cooler/oil cooler job can easily run you $1500-2000.

Co2 sensor needs to be replaced, where is it located on the car. just replaced the cam shaft sensor and the crank shaft sensor

co2 ...or do you mean O2 (Oxygen Sensor). The Oxygen sensor is always located downstream on the exhaust and is typically easily seen from the underside of the car. Start where the engine is and follow the exhaust until you see what looks similar to a spark plug screwed into the side of the exhaust pipe. It always has a wire, or even a few wires attached to it. There may be one and sometimes up to four. Why are you changing it ? If there are several make sure you know which one is defective and that it is indeed defective. They are easy to test with an ohm meter. Sometimes other devices or systems that are not functioning properly cause the computer to record a code that refers to this system. This is a system with many parts, connections and variables...I just want to see you replace what is needed and not what a code may make you think is needed. I hope that makes sense to you. Why did you replace the other items ? I have never seen a cam and crank sensor fail at the same time. Hope to hear back from you soon.
