I got the 3000 mile check up and the service light just came on. When we bought the car, there was no owners manual. How can i turn the light off myself, or does anyone have the service manual that can tell me how?
a 6ya Mechanic can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Mechanic (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

mitsu has schedule maintainence at 3000 miles LOF 15000 miles 30000 miles 60000 miles and so on check owners manual for requirements at each interval give or take on the mileage 60k service is timing belt and plugs on most vehicles
I believe that would be your "maintenance due" light. Most GM vehicles as of 2005 or so have a program built in to the vehicles computer that will let you know when it is time for your normal service to be performed. It measures this by how many times the vehicle is started, how long it is run for, etc. Sometimes it will come on after 3000 miles, sometimes 5000 miles and sometimes more. GM says that once the light comes on, they recommend you have an oil and filter change and any other necessary work done within 500 miles of the light illuminating. On average the light will come on about every 5000 miles but it can go to 8000 miles. I would suggest no matter what that the oil and filter be changed every 8000 miles at most with regular and not synthetic oil. You can always do the service sooner than that. Transaxles should be serviced at 30,000 miles or less on front and all wheel drive models on the Equinox. Please rate me on this answer.
What exactly does the light look like? If it is a picture of the engine (check engine light) you may have a problem with the car. If it is a light that specificaly says "Service Engine Soon" or "Maintance Required", you may not need to do anything. Some cars, not many, have a service reminder light that comes on when ever a service is due like an oil change. When a mechanic does an oil change, they may reset this counter and after 3000 miles or so, the light comes on despite what ever conditions the oil is in, whether it needs to be changed or not, the light will come on and stay on. Now i dont want to tell you to ignore your light and later find out it was trying to tell you something was wrong. Look in your owners manual and find the description of the light. If you cannot find the description or do not have your owners manual, let us know and we will try and help you again. Hope this helps
the air pressure in the spare tire is low add air to proper pressure and it will reset itself spare pressure low the perform service could also be for tire but check owners manual for reset service reminders or have scanned at an auto store sum, such as auto zone / advanced auto do it for free and can reset the code via scanner
this is telling you that the vehicle is due for minor service such as oil change and filters if you have already done this recently the service light needs to be reset for the new cycle generally a cycle is anywhere from 3000-5000 miles depending on manufacturer. take to dealer and have them reset it or your owners manual will walk you through resetting
The owner's manual calls for changing oil and filter every 7500 miles in normal service, or if driving in dusty conditions, offroad, or lots of low speed and idling (a taxi or maybe an unlucky commuter), go to the extreme service intervals of 5000 miles. Changing oil every 3000 miles is definitely NOT required.
Is the "Service Engine" light, or the "Change Engine Oil" light? Do you have the service books, or owners books, that came with the car? I had the same problem with the "Change Engine Oil" light. The fix was in the book. If you don't have it, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, and I can tell you how to fix it.
