Question about 1988 Chevrolet Corsica

95 Chevy Corsica 2.2L

Hi all,

the POS starts, runs (if you want to call it that) pops and chokes and then dies. Any suggestion as to where to start looking. As a side note, I just changed the fuel pump a few months ago. Has been running fine until Friday when this started. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Vehicle seems to not be getting enough gas because it chokes up when u accelerate and dies when you put it in gear

it could be the pickup screen in the tank is clogged from dirt in the tank being stirred up when you ran it dry then put gas in you will have to drop the tank to look at it or dirt could have made it to your injectors or throttle body

I have a 95 chevy corsica. It will run good on highway but when i stop it dies and i have to let it sit for about 15 min and it will start . Now it wont start at all. it will turn over but no...

So what it sounds like, is that your not getting any fuel. More than likely your fuel pump died and you will need to get this replaced. You can have a friend or relative lay under the car and hit the underside of the gas tank with a rubber mallet; sometimes this will jiggle the fuel pump enough to allow gas flow. If this works, you could make it to your local repair shop to have it replaced.

1988 chevy corsica ever since we got some fuel

You may have gotten a gas can full of water ( not literally ) but there was plenty of water to make a difference. Check the fuel filter I would completely drain the fuel tank and blow out the fuel lines. Is this a multi port or throttle body injection ( you may may want to clean your injectors ) ANY WAY CHANGING YOUR FILTER SHOULD SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM GOOD LUCK !!

Sounds like a faulty sensor. Have you changed your fuel filter? Checked all vacuum lines? Any check engine light on?

Check the crankshaft position sensor. If the plug is loose or the sensor itself is bad it will cause similar problems
