When was last healthy tune up? I would change plugs, wires, all filters including FUEL filter then run a good fuel system cleaner through it like STP or Gumout. This will give you a good "ground zero" point for reliability.

Car wont start

Could be the key switch, or the neutral safety switch.
Try cranking it in neutral.
You may have to trace the circuit from the key switch to the starter to find the problem. Also the ground connections between the engine and battery.

It wont start it sounds like it wants to but wont turn over

Hi Jennifer, I'm glad to help!
Jennifer with your question it want turn over can be taken 2 way. The engine won't turn over at all, which means you turn the key and nothing happens and sometimes it just clicks. It want turn over to some people means the engine is moving but it want start and run. I'm thinking you mean it want do anything, but you here a click noise. This could be a starter, here a way to see if it is. NOTE: This doesn't always work. Have a friend hit the starter while you hold the key in the start position which is all the way on. Sometimes this will jolt the starter enough and it will start. If it does start then you'll need to replace the starter. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Jennifer.

Car only starts sometimes

The start circuit from the ignition switch to neutral safety switch to the solenoid on the starter might be bad. Look for power there at solenoid or at neutral safety switch when it doesn't want to crank over.

Engine do not start (no cranking), only the sound of clicking (relay??). All indicators are normal (lights up), battery good (tested by turning on headlights, blowing horn). Happens after turning off a hot...

Hi:) That sound like the solenoid is the problem it is located on the starter and if the solenoid is not working right it will do all the things you are explaining. And yes heat has alot to do with it and being ware out.If it is the original it is time to replace the starter anyways it's 16 years old.

Started motor problems on Toyota Camry 2000

You need a new starter bendix, or a whole starter. Best do it soon before you tear the teeth of the flex plate. Once you do that you have to pull the transmission to change it.

Security on. car wont crank. can trun key wont

verify that you have a fully charge battery and that you have the same amount of voltage at the battery as at the starter when the key is turned to the start position. If not repair fault at positive cable either at battery or at starter. If voltage checks good. Use a remote starter and turn key to the on position and try to crank over engine with remote starter. if engine cranks over. You have a defective starter solenoid and starter must be replaced.

2000 reg clio 1.2 and SOMETIMES it will not start.

Hi, if when you turn the key to start the car the engine dont turn over as if its trying to start then this indicates that you have a problem with your starter motor it is the selanoid on the starter starting to fail

Sometimes it will turn the engine over starting the car and other times it will do nothing and you might here a slight clocking noise coming from the starter motor.

If your battery is ok and holds the charge ie the lights are bright without the car running then this indicates that your battery is ok and that the starter needs replacing. Sometimes you can get away with giving the starter motor a few taps with a hammer this sometimes clears any muck inside the starter selonoid getting it working for a bit longer but eventually it wont work at all so its best ot get this done sooner rather that later.

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok
