Question about Hyundai Motor 2002 Elantra

1 Answer

2002 elantra the battery was dying frequently. had to jump start. The last time I jumped it, i drove it about 5 minutes home and it started to spit sputter and then it died right at the drive way. i figured that the alt. was done and since i wasnt giving it much rpms at that speed it wasnt getting any juice to the battery and it died. but after the new install its doing this> Did I blow a fuse or fry something?

Does the battery light turns off when you start the car? You can check the main fusible link by the side of the battery.(60A or 100A) this could be the problem

intermittents are sometimes hard to diagnose out !! and this seems as one , im curious though what made them wiggle the relays and fuses ?? was there a previous problem there ?? depending on year of manufacture of car , is weather or not the cars own pcu can help diagnose what made car stop , as later models "remember " what there last condition was that shut off engine , of course this requires diagnostic equipment to see this info that typically car owners don't own , but a qualified service tech does and knows how to use it to find your problem

My 1996 jeep grand cherokee has started needing a jump to get started about once a week.. had the alternator and battery tested, both are good. 2 nights ago it wouldnt start, so I got a jump and drove it...

I would have a load test done on the battery as there is a dead cell evident from the number of jump starts you need. Have an auto electrician test the alternator for charge rate and out put. check drive belt condition and tension.

I have a 2002 hyundai elantra I have replaced the alternator and got a new battery well it ran for one day then while driving it the next day there was a big clunk like something fell out of the motor then...

crank sensor will cause similar stalling issues. You may have got a bad alternator, if the battery light is on after you jump it, probably needs a new, new alternator. make sure all your connections are tight and plugged in, both on battery and alternator.

Where is the Alternator located in a 1997 Lexus LS 400

If the car ran and got you home after a jump start I doubt the alternator is bad. Check your battery. And remember never ever disconnect the battery cable with the engine running.

98 Jeep Cherokee Laredo 4X2 suddenly dies .....

It sounds like you have some **** in the gas tank that is being drawn to the pickup blocking it.
Have seen this and because it seems so random, it can drive ya nuts.

You might carry a coffee can with you and pull the line from the fuel rail when this happens stick it in the can and just have someone turn the key on for a few seconds.
Beware though, it comes out with force.

Also possible is a failed fuel pressure regulator.
Those aren't expensive and . . . well, not very good either.
