Question about 1986 Honda Civic

2 Answers

No power I've got a '86 honda civic si, and I don't have any power from a stop, or even once I've started going. It seems like it has a hard time getting the rpm's over 3000 at all.

244K miles....if the cylinder pressure is off, would that mean a bad gasket?

No. gasket is between the block and head, your car has 244k miles, the cylinder pressure is off, means the ring on the piston is lose and leaking air. If all 4 cylinders' pressure are low, you need rebuild the engine.

Are you saying the engine is difficult to crank, or start ?
If it cranks ok but takes a long time to start, the starter is not the problem. You would look at ignition or fuel.
