I don't have a fuse for my Radio. When I turn it on I can hear the speakers kicking on, but theres no display on the radio and no sound comes from the speakers except for a little bit of static when turned up. Where would I get the fuse for it?

Hi,

Most car stereos/headunits uses a glass type fuse. the ampere rating would depend on the power of the stereo. Most would do with a 5~7 ampere fuses but several high end/ high power would require 10 or more.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Fuse controls lighter

The easiest way it to pull the fuse and look at it. Normally it will look like a solid one piece wire in the middle. If it is broken, then the fuse is blown. On your car I believe that the lighter and radio are on the same "acc" fuse.

What color wire from fuse panel to radio on 1989 Camaro

Base line radio,... Orange -hot all the time, Acc fuse ..-20amp. Yellow ,Hot -key on.. Radio fuse -10amp.... Delco, Bose system...Orange,-20amp ARC fuse..Hot all the time, Yellow, radio fuse, -10 amp, hot with key on. Your second orange wire powers your Amp Relay, in the Acc fuse,- 20 amp ..it has a constant hot, or power..so you might be getting power @ the Radio, but Nothing out the speakers.. Hope that helps..

I have replaced the alternator in my 1988 camaro v8 z28 and i still have a discharge in my battery that i cant fix.

Check to see if the alternator is charging, and if it is charging correctly, and the battery is good, test the battery with a load tester,if they check out good, then there is most likely a draw in the electrical system drawing voltage with the key off, check for a clock radio to be pulling down the battery,or a interior dome light or something of this nature, trunk light or hood light.Voltage for the charging system checked at the battery should be 13.65 to 14.25 with the head lights on,and the ac on high blower. Now to check for a draw, remove the negative battery cable and put a test light in between the cable and the negative post of the battery. If the test light lights up,then something in the vehicle is drawing voltage, pulling one fuse,at a time will help find the circuit that is causing the problem. If this was at all helpful, please rate, thank you.

1988 trooper the radio was replaced now the fuse blows

Start by disconnecting the radio power wire, it may have been connected to your dashlite circuit. Now with a test lite tool check the available wires for the heavier wire, Using the test lite, this should have power when the ignition is on. reconnect your radio power wire to this one and your problem is solved.

Has anyone had any difficulty with the radio removal and replacement for an 88 camaro irocz28? I purchased this car, then discovered the antenna cables were 'stuffed' underneath the console on the drivers...

i have a 1990 iroc-z and i replaced the radio with an aftermarket radio. when i replaced the factory radio i had to do a little manuvering of the wires because of the alarm i had installed. the antenna wire is supposed to be ran under the PASSENGER side i dont understand why they are under the driver side.

Check the fuses under the dash drivers side. Also check the fuses/relays under the hood on the left side in a black plastic box.
