There is one on the bottom of the radiator on the passenger side - lay on the floor and it is there - no guards in the way - according to the owners manual from the dealership there is also one under the driver seat (I have not done that one yet but I will be doing that one this weekend hope this helps:)

Need location of radiator plug on 2004 chevy venture

If it has one it would be on the bottom of the radiator. Most cars and trucks today don't have a plug or valve.
You are expected to use a recycling machine to flush the coolant.

I need help to find the drain plug for the coolant on the radiator so I can flush it out. Do you have a picture for me to find it. I do apprieciate your help on this matter

Drain plug is located on the driver's side of the radiator, It's common got the drain plug's O rings to go bad and promote leaking after it's been removed due to time and heat.
Your better off by doing what most Techs do by unhooking the lower radiator hose from the passenger side to ensure no additional work is needed to flush out the coolant from the radiator.
Thank you for using fixya and be safe.

Where is the radiator drain plug located on a 97 chevy 1500 Z71? I'm trying to flush the radiator, but cannot find it.

It's located on the drivers side of the radiator opposite of the lower radiator hose. Note: you may be better off disconnecting the lower radiator hose, it's common for the drain plug to break or the O-rings to split causing more work to drain the radiator. That's why most tech's will drain the radiator from the lower radiator hose, less chance of breaking the radiator drain plug and most new cars now don't come with a drain plug to the radiator.

Want to change out coolent in radiator myself is it a wise choice

Things you will need:
Radiator coolant mixture (get from garage)
Radiator flush fluid (also from garage)
Distilled water (Or if your me garden hose water ;) )

Take off the radiator cap when engine is COOL. Find the drain plug located in the bottom of the radiator (normaly hand tight) and let it drain out into a catch container. Put the drain plug back in, follow the instructions on the flush container topping the radiator back up. Let engine run as directed on bottle and then carefuly undo the radiator cap using a rag as not to burn yourself. Then remove the plug again and drain out the flush fluid. Then repeat the process with the radiator fluid as instructed on the bottle.

Radiator flushing

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, on most cars, the radiator drain plug is located at the lowest most section, often to one side. It could be a wingnut type or a regular bolt or squarish variety. In some instances it would be pretty difficulty to locate nor access due to the other coverings and components of the front end of the vehicle.

Alternately, removing the lower hose radiator side would serve the same purpose.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

Radiator Flush Plug

look under the left end of the radiator, at the bottom. Under the "bumper", a small white plastic thumbscrew...it's a valve of sorts to drain the radiator.
